**** The Official Google Pixel C Thread ****

Case: This one for when it's at home. This one for travels (including adaptors and chargers etc.

I've personally not bagged a hub yet, but it seems there are quite a few out there... not sure if any pass the Benson test (I haven't checked), but a couple have been demonstrated running off the Pixel C in YouTube videos. Was thinking of this one, but will wait until I'm back from Yankland early June to try it...

EDIT: realise that's just a through hub, and not a full multi-port fella... not really checked into those yet.

Sitting on the fence, but have really converted to purely Android tablet lifestyle lately... I think I'm going to have to get a Pixel C.
Might wait to see what comes out of Google I/O before pressing the buy button. Waiting has never been a strong point of mine though...

Would people recommend the keyboard? Looking to punt the old MacBook and laptop I use also, so I guess it'd make life easier.

Edit: Sack it, patience has never got me anywhere. Ordered the 64gb, but will need to hold off on the keyboard until I've made some more funds.

Seriously though, daft having one without the keyboard, it's great.
 
I'll wait a bit, to see about funds. Have bought an £8 Amazon case, to tide me over.
I'll see how it goes. Never needed one on the Nexus 9, but this is a little bigger, and is hopefully replacing most PC based tasks, including light work from home.
 
It's an odd thing really... never used one with the N7, used one a bit with an iPad mini, and briefly with the Venue 8 Pro.

Made myself use this, and now it's the main machine besides the game computer. Nothing else gets touched... the PC-based tasks I would have done, I've done pretty much from the Pixel.
 
I just bought one, ordered it yesterday and it came today. With the folio keyboard, it slots in like a full book cover. It's nice quality, and thankfully I can change it to DVORAK. Functionally it seems ok, graphics and performance wise.

I've never used a tablet before so not sure if I will use it much but it seems it would be better to check emails and things with.
 
Just got mine, and have left it charging, as it's on very low battery.
What is the general consensus, should I just put it on Android N now, or is it a bit grim at the moment?

I'm not going to I'd rather wait till it's released properly. Even though it really does need the functionality, as some apps default to portrait which you cant use with the keyboard.

Rotation is absolutely brilliant for fixing this... Any misbehaving apps, get them set to Force Full Sensor and it fully obeys what orientation it's in, even with the keyboard attached.

Instagram, Santander, and a few other niggly apps behave now. N can be a little stroppy, but it's a complete daily driver for me now, and has been since the second beta release.
 
Coming from the Nexus 9, with CM13/no encryption, the performance is definitely quicker, but not night and day.
It just feels like a nice device though, the weight is fine, the battery seems fantastic. Speakers are great, screen is awesome.

Definitely getting the keyboard, come pay day. A small size increase over the N9, but it just makes it that bit better to use, and the 64gb storage will not go a miss!
Glad I didn't wait any longer.

Edit: One thing I miss... Double-tap to wake! :(

Has anyone had problems with lines temporarily appearing on the screen? It seems to be happening sometimes when I'm scrolling, and is especially noticeable when it happens on the home screen. I'm thinking its screen hardware related as taking a screenshot doesn't show any lines...
 
I'm going on holiday in a couple of weeks, is it worth buying this tablet over the cheaper ones? I'm mainly going to be surfing the Web and playing some games on it.. And maybe installing work (if it is any good)

I would hold off and possibly get a touch screen Chromebook what with the rumour of the play store coming to chrome.
 
Can anyone suggest a gallery app that will allow me to review photos which are on an external USB stick/SD Card? Struggling to get any of the usual suspects to see my connected card even though the system itself and file manager do.

Is the keyboard worth > £100? No. Is it good though? Yes.

Definitely no regrets, about picking up this tablet.

I've got one complaint, although yet to check if it's still present in N Preview 4.
If you remove headphones, when the screen is off audio has stopped. Sound doesn't seem to play, until you've plugged/unplugged headphones with the screen on... Had seen a couple of other people mention this issue also. Pretty trivial issue, but I'm sure it'll get fixed one day.
 
Served me brilliantly on recent Yankland trip... only had to resort to a normal computer once, where hotel could only print from their machines. Absolutely great otherwise... their problem, rather than anything the Pixel threw in the way.

Suppose we could dream that Google will release a firmware that turns it back into a Chromebook, around the time the Play Store goes live for those, but in all honesty, I don't see much of a difference having the different Chromebook functionality.

It's an odd device, still, but it's our odd device and it's loved!
(I still covet a Chromebook Pixel LS though, just because)
