A slight copy of the HZ overclocking thread, I know, but recently many people, (like myself) are having difficulty working out which is better, the ZX or the HZ 2GB Gskill offerings.

So please can people post their timings, volts, and speeds; along with motherboard used and when the ZX was bought.

Thanks for the help!

Spec in sig.

Nice and fast at stock speeds. (PC3200, 2-3-2-5 timings)

Overclocked, DDR480, 2.5-4-4-7 @ 2.8v

memtest stable for just under 8 passes

very nice. are those the tightest timings you could do? Have you tried raising cas to 3 and lowering the others, for example, 3-3-3-8. apparantly a64 systems don't gain much from cas, but do gain quite a lot from the middle two.

Not quite sure where you heard that from....

Normally you should aim to keep 1T timings and as low CAS as possible. I was under the impression that the "middle two" weren't that important. But will give it a go next time I'm not busy with other stuff ;)

I was basing that on the 2gb memory faq at the top of the forum, and i think that it said somewhere that cas doesn't make much difference to A64 systems, but I might have misunderstood it. Could be interesting to find out which is better.

My Mushkins (same Infineon IC's as your ZX) are at 2.8v, this is what they're rated at so its not like i'm slowly killing them.

Anybody got any more results to post in here, I have some of this ram and have had it running at 250Mhz but with loose timings 3-4-4-8-2T, anyone else care to share their result as there aren't many here so far
