Hi,

Thought I would start a thread about the Gskill HZ ram.

What clocks, voltages and timings are you running.

At the moment I am running 260mhz at stock voltages and timings currently tweaking my opteron 170.

would be interesting to know what other people were running:)

Thanks for your input. :)

I have some priming now @260 3-4-3-7 2.55v they key to this RAM is LOW volts I get less errors in memtest @2.5v than @2.7v.

Everyone try lowering the voltage you might be pleasantly surprised.

have you tried taking them higher?

Here's some results I'm @280MHz @3-4-4-8 2.6v memtest stable for 5 10 passes of test 5 so that's very good up to yet I will try for more though.

That's pretty impressive 30MHz over the spec it's sold at this set could have been sold as DDR440 I'm sure, it would be interesting if other people posted their results is mine normal or a special lucky set?

280 mhz is fantastic news.
gonna push mine later :)

Picked up some up earlier this morning, end result is it will do up to 270Mhz prime stable, although 275+ boots and runs spi 32mb it will eventually fall over in prime etc. However 270 is rock solid. Best timings I can get are 3-4-3-7, makes no difference to max mhz, and voltage appears to make no difference what so ever either.

so you got 270 mhz on stock timings? :)

I want to at least acheive 2.5Ghz with this chip... if this memory can do it's SPD of 250Mhz that should be OK... would you say that the latest G.Skill HZ are not doing SPD and am I pushing my luck on acheiving the above speed?

Thx...
ManC

most arre doing 260-280 mhz :)

:D I think i have found my next upgrade, anyone got the same motherboard as me and this ram, just wondering, running the 704-2 bios (I think thats right, got it off the DFI Forums made by a guy called BigToe or something)

Any how should complement my setup, had problems overclocking my cpu with the geil value.

I have got the DFI expert and it works fine.Currently running at 260 mhz 1:1 with my opty [email protected].

If you want to run 1:1 then get the HZ if not just run your geil on a divider

see Here

If you were after tighter timings over mhz overclock then you maybe should have got the ZX instead.

The higher mhz speed still is better than tighter timings with this ram though looking at the review.

Well I sold my geil value 2 gig kit I just couldn't get past 2.5ghz on my opty.
Just didnt like the dividers.

So I sold the geil and got the gskill HZ and have never looked back 2.6ghz@1:1
I would ideally like 2.8ghz @1:1 but I dont reckon the ram will do 280mhz.

However I have not tried

Kimandsally got 280mhz out of his HZ on stock timings so I will push further when I get the time.

If nayone is running their HZ at 280 mhz please tell me your settings.

In memtest I only start getting errors at 46% before this its error free at 280 mhz.

I can game for hours at 270 1:1 with my opty 2.7ghz and primes for 12 hrs error free.

However I run memtest at 270 and I get errors on test 5

250 no errors like you would expect @ 2.6v
260 no errors like you would expect @ 2.6v

270 errors @ 2.6 ,2.7,2.8 v

am i being a noob?

I have tried 2.6-2.8v and no change.

all this is at stock timings

Also mate run windows Memtest. Ive read from various Techs that doss version will pick up errors when there may not even be a fault.

Not garenteed but i only use Dos memtest to check if they are at risk of corrupting my install if not then Windows Memtest here i come.

what ram would you need to run 1:1 with your opty?

crucial ballistix?

can you post me a link to the prog you use just to make sure I'm using the right one.

The one I downloaded limits the ammount of ram I can test

cheers

P.S you have the same mobo as me so I might be asking a few more questions :)

They show no performance at increased voltage.
Voltage matters not to theses chips

Max 260 MEMTEST free

no more

shame i Can't get 1:1

i know there is no performance but 280mhz would be nice. :)
