***The Official Guitar Thread***

Mrs has said, after painting, that she wants better wood shelves. Everyone knows that better wood comes from the specialist timber merchant that stocks wood that’s also great for guitars..

Musing over making a Tim Bram inspired archtop telecaster :D

You need a decent fireplace

Got a new shiny! Hadn't heard of Rathbone before but wanted a mahogany acoustic and saw this on eBay. It plays lovely, a lot more base and just a lot more going on higher up (harmonics or something) anyway, instantly my new favourite guitar.

the (seemingly) randomness of how it works means it gets annoying pretty quick but fairly impressed with them!

I made a thread about it ages ago.

Better get hoarding those strings (most are US origin, no idea where the metal/wire comes from but I assume Mexico)!

1374Hz natural frequency of a 5mm sitka spruce flat top (if a tele was acoustic!).

I've been doing some modelling of the natural frequencies - the idea is, although simulations aren't perfect (the wood structure tends to be unique), the idea is it gives a good starting point.

I'm currently working out how todo an arch top in the design I want, which will help reduce the mistakes.
