Not sure how i'm making myself look silly, maybe by disproving everything you've said with facts? That is what a discussion is about right?

I think you're the one making yourself look silly tbh.

You haven't disproved anything i've said... I find it bizarre that you think otherwise! I simply said many of us had a good, informed idea of what the rough price that it would be (more expensive than the 8800GTS, and many sources in the media stated this having got info from partners etc) and judged it accordingly. Where on earth did you disprove any of that?

Im intrested in uying this card myself.

biased sites say the ati card is better, honest sites say the gts ia better.

its best to wait for peoper sites like anandtech, firingsquad and especially hardocp to get thier reviews up.

Yeah, I think the fanboyism from both sides is getting a little tiring here. I'm dissappointed too but I just don't see any reason to start frapping over myself over it.

In any case, I think I'll save up for a new case and a GTX, lol. At least ATi may be in a better position then, with better drivers and lower prices.

Due to the nature of R600’s superscalar architecture, driver efficiency is also going to be more important. We have no doubt in our minds that the performance of the Radeon HD 2900 XT is being held up by the driver.

Do people actually read these reviews or just look at graphs and think thats all there is to it?

People keep telling you though that Nvidia drivers have much room for improvement too. :p

I can't understand what he means... the 8800GTS has been shown to be the current victor... so why is he flaming the owners?

You posted this before the prices went up. How is it the "current victor" before you know the bang/buck?

You then went on to tell me that anybody could have "guessed" it would be £270.

Either way, i'm bored of bickering, i'd rather just get along with people than argue. Agree to disagree? :)

While thats true the difference here is the ati card is being held back by the driver, nvidia can probably eek a few more % out of the 8800 series, ati on the other hand have a card thats drivers are obviously doing significant damage to its performance.
