Lovely phone but not for me.

In comparison i'm now using my wifes iphone 4s whilst my HO is away for repair and all I can say is what a pile of ...p!

Its obviously down to personal preference but I can't think of one thing that the iphone does better than the one.

I bought her an iphone 5 last week as an upgrade and that's no different to the 4s other than thinner and longer.

I dropped my phone a few times at the weekend. I have a case on it but I've still managed to get some nasty chips on the corners. Bummer.

I've been using ARHD 20.1 for about a week now and the battery life seems poor compared to 13.3 and the car mode doesn't open automatically when I put it in my car dock any more. Think I might revert back.

Once is unfortunate, twice is careless... but a few times!

What can one say! ;)

Sorry to hear about the damage though, as they are lovely phones.

It wasn't even my fault. It was all the alcohols fault......

I can't be too angry, it's all down to my own stupidity. I must have dropped it about 3 times which is weird considering I've never dropped a smartphone in all my years of owning them! Anyway, I'm just glad I didn't smash the screen, it will lower the resale value but it's all okay other than that.

Just picked my One up and it is totally dead. Responds to nothing but Win 7, where it says it fails to install a 'QHSUSB' driver when I plug it in.

Going to see Three tomorrow, more in hope than anything else.

for some reason ie10 wouldn't allow me to track my rma with htc, installed firefox and shows they got my phone today (collected last Thursday) any idea how long they take from now? I hate using my wifes old 4s with a passion! having said that its better than the nokia 100 I was using previously :0

 :(

Does it come from the apps you use compared to those on iOS, or just functionality in general?
Not sure, ive got the same apps as i used to have on my iphone so there not the problem, cant quite put my finger on why i dont like the htc.

I found the iphone to be a very easy phone to use day to day,i dont need the most powerful phone with the largest screen but a phone which just works for me and the iphone was that phone.

If someone came up to me with a iphone 5 today and said swap i would do it without a second thought.

iTunes pretty much negates all you said, sorry.

What had iTunes got to do with the HTC ?

Because I think he must be one of these odd individuals that thinks iTunes is so bad, so awfully bad that they couldn't handle using an iPhone because you need very occasional interactions with it.

I've never understood this, I am fully prepared to admit that iTunes has its limitations and might not be the best music handling software out there but I've been using it happily for the best part of 10 years now and I've never had a fundamental issue with it.

In fact I currently use it with my S4, its easy to get it to play nicely with android if necessary.

No offense but whats so hard about using the One day to day? I'd go as far as to say that it is probably the most easiest phone out of all the large ones to handle due to its narrow design.

I use iTunes pretty much every day, never had a problem. Thats why when I wanted a change, I was so interested with the One, as it has the Sync manager which pulls everything from iTunes and my files. I keep my playlists up to date with no hassle at all. Also the larger screen than an iPhone, as well as (IMO) the better design, allowing you to easily use the phone without it feeling cumbersome.

- Update: Currently waiting on HTC for the ticket for my repair. I hope they just find it bricked and replace it. If they complain about having ARHD on it, they'll need every bit of written evidence to even suggest there was any effect on the device from using it. How can it rip through games one second, be dead the next?!

It's THE major bugbear of mine with my iPad... To the point where I don't use it nearly as much as much as I would because of the frankly aweful way it handles putting things onto the iPad. Zune I never had a problem with however copying things like photos on and off the iPad is the biggest pain in the behind I've had in a long time. The sync function being one of the biggest issues where it deletes photos on your device you've copied over if you have the gall to want to copy more than two seperate folders onto the device...

I'll definitely admit it's not like a USB stick, not even especially helpful to be honest especially with movies etc but after Apple has set their course for so long I just don't even expect to be able to treat it like a USB stick. Its never, ever going to happen, you'll never be able to drag and drop etc.

I'm not talking about drag and drop or USB stick functionality, just trying to sync multiple folders of photos to an iPad via iTunes. Funnily enough using it like a USB stick is actually easier, at least with the camera connection kit...

Then again iOS isn't brilliant with photos full stop, for example when you import images using the camera connecting kit you can move them into folders, which you can delete easily. To delete the actual images in the "imported images" folder however you have to select each one individually... Fine if you have 12 pictures, a bit of a pain when you have a couple of thousand...

Android would probably be better for the above but even as the devices are starting to be smooth (the one is the first android device that doesn't lag constantly- although it still has it's issues compared to iOS and WP devices) the hardware is a problem, cheap feeling devices with tiny 7" 16x10 screens. 3x4 may not be great for watching screens but it's a lot better when dealing with photos (even those at 2x3) and browsing the net, the main things I bought my mini for.

** this may be an OSX issue rather than an iTunes issue however considering OSX is backwards in it's ability to sync/view images anyway. For example iTunes functionality with photos is similar to iPhoto... Which is also rubbish... There's no problem with music transfer imo and although video transfer to specific apps is a bit awkward it's still useable!
