***The Official HTC One Thread***

If you are someone who wants support for as long as possible then you shouldn't be looking at any OEM android device, you will generally only get a max of 2 years support, if lucky... I have been stung twice with poor support and not even got a full year of updates due to lame ass reasons, which is why I went with the nexus 5 in the end and will most likely stay with the nexus line until google/manufacturers work on some way to sort out android fragmentation.

This is the crux of it, never again will i choose an OEM device as they don't offer what I want from them, Purely Nexus devices if you want updates!

You could always make your device a GPE one, I imagine that'll get 5.1?

The "HTC Sense Home" app feels crap to me, no matter what I do it won't change to all black like I can have it if I remove th app, also like mentioned the clock just seems pants.

Seems if you download a theme and set it on the HTC Sense home app, it also affects the lockscreen. So you can change the clock widget but as far as I can see on the theme store, there's only 3 different styles. Not much icon choices either, would've been nice if icon packs from the app store were compatible.

Hmm, I've got Lollipop but don't noctice a huge amount of bugs really. The new Sense/Home screen app has mucked things up a bit, but life will go on.

TBH I've been very, very pleased with my M7. I don't think I'll consider the M9 as an upgrade, maybe the M8. I am however being pulled more towards a Windows Phone, particularly the Noka Lumia range...

Well my HTC One has recently started getting issues, battery life is suddenly 6 hours.
It's like its just asking me to upgrade it, won't be a M9 though.

Installed battery doctor, see what that does sigh.

I am also looking to upgrade my trusty M7, but would rather like to go down the Windows route!

Don't think the HTC One Windows versions are available here in the U.K, so I might have a closer look at a Lumia 930.

HTC One GPe finally has 5.1. Decided to flash it, I have noticed little bugs with Sense 6/Lollipop which while they are minor, did bother me enough. Most of the problems came from the updated HTC apps however :p. Really not liking the new lockscreen/Sense home/gallery/etc.

Also, before, giffgaff 4G only worked with Sense based ROMs for me, but it seems it's finally working on the 5.1 GPe ROM!

Got 5.1 on my GPe M7 just now. My home and back buttons still don't have working LEDs under them.......

Been running it for a few days now and they seem to be working fine for me. Others on XDA are reporting the same as well, perhaps try reflashing?

It's strange how the One M7 was updated to Lollipop, but the One Max wasn't. Especially considering it was released 7 months after the M7 :(

Just checked XDA and looks like Lollipop was released in Taiwan for the One Max a few hours ago!

Meanwhile for the mini and mini 2... :(.

If anyone uses Blinkfeed, there's a leak that it will soon display ads: https://twitter.com/upleaks/status/597630774041444352/photo/1

Even if the One will not get any Android/Sense updates, there still is the HTC app updates via the Play store. Really don't like the direction Sense is going now in terms of features, I still prefer 5/5.5/6. The only good thing I like about 7 is the themes... but that's it.

Don't think I will get another HTC now to be honest.

I used an otterbox defender for the first 12 months or so then got a duo case (official)
Took it out the case the other day and it has scratched the phone to hell.
Combine that with the battery being shot to bits, the mrs' Mini 2 won't be getting an update and that's not really an old phone.

So unless the M9 gets a google play edition, removable battery and gets suddenly cheaper, I won't be getting it.
