might be looking at this on a new 3 contract to replcae my galaxy nexus. long story

whats the camera like compared to the nexus? The nexus is really good in dim light

I used the camera for the first time over the weekend both outdoors and indoors. I was astounded by the burst mode capture mode. Coming from an HTC Desire where I was used to waiting a good second or so before I could take a shot, to then holding the button down and taking 6 shots by accident was a pleasant surprise.

The panorama mode is amazing too. Providing the subjects in the stitch area don't move wildly it works remarkably well. If they do you end up with errors (like my wife's long hair appearing as it if was a beard lol! :D)

Indoor shots in low light were pretty good too. Not got a great deal of kit to compare them too but they looked as good as the Fuji F70 the missus has.

This seems like the best deal at the moment:

Mobiles.co.uk

T-mobile 24 months
300 mins, Unlimited texts, 750mb data
3 months at £2.99 via redemption
£26.00 a month for 24 months

Plus £60.60 back from Topcashback.

Overall that equals £494.37 total cost which is £20.60 a month :)

Anybody seen better?

Hopefully Robertnpmk's girlfriend doesn't read this :D

£80 off on quidco...

Looks pretty good for a 24 month contract, almost worth just scrapping the last 6 months or so.

Still thinking about jumping on one of these, most likely via the O2 £10.50/mth as the cheapest overall method of getting the handset (about £50 less than sim-free)....I have 8 months of a £12/mth Sim-only to run, so need to factor in best overall deal...that said, can't help but wonder what will happen to prices when the S3 finally arrives.....10 days seems so long to wait for something shiny :p

Im in EXATLY the same situation, got a couple months of my sim only deal left, trying to work out overall cheapest method of getting the One X, but still can't lol and also wondering what the S3 will do to prices..argh...but I want it NOW :D

I gotta say, having handled a lot of phones I do love the way this phone looks, feels and performs. Thin, light and a quality feel, everyone comments when they handle it.

I'm loving my HOX - had a moment yesterday when i say a yellow tinge at the side of the screen - after a couple of hours, it disappeared thankfully.

I can't buy a case for it; I actually like the size of it (coming from a Desire) but wouldn't want to add any further bulk.

It's the same story with screen protectors for me - why use a screen protector and degrade the experience of the silky smooth gorilla glass?
Live a little people!:D

Cheers for who replied, think I might wait till s3 then go for it, sell the nexus and drop its contract to 10£

Also I am not very impressed by the constant signal drops on the nexus. My HTC Desire had a useless camera but had no software faults and was built exceptionally

I have another question, this is important.

How good is the signal on this compared to other phones? The contract I will have it on has poor signal where I am on my galaxy nexus

Had mine for 2 days now. My Desire already feels so little fat and heavy. Weird!! Pretty underwhelmed with the performance but not sure what I was expecting: it's not like it will make the calls for me!! All my apps work, butter smooth, giddy with the amount of storage available (again, from a Desire!), reception is solid, battery life so far seems OK (but haven't had a chance to leave it for a couple of days yet).

One of the nicest things is the form factor and how tactile the materials are: it's really nice to hold, and no nasty crevices for 2 years of gummy skin to build up into.

Oh, and obviously I'm loving the screen. Watched a movie on the train last night on the screen and it was great! Just need one of those bendy spider things to hold it up now.

Tonights job is to understand how to use Dropbox on it properly. Anybody know if the Android Dropbox client supports LAN syncing, so I don't send 720p MKVs to Dropbox servers, then DL them back to my phone??

Just been reading the s3 has a poor designed ui, that's the s3 out for me.

Does this phone have more real screen space than the nexus? I notice it doesn't have on screen home/back/window buttons

I doubt anyone (that can talk about it) has even seen the UI, but history would suggest it probably won't be great. HTC do a better job.

Yes, but as a result of not having software buttons you sometimes lose a bit of screen space as it adds a menu bar across the bottom.

Ui is quite important to me. One of those things.

Didn't think I would be getting rid of the nexus this quick!

Oh, and to remind everybody you need to sign into your Dropbox on the One X to activate the 25Gb bonus. In addition, you also have to complete a certain number of the activities from the account page on the Dropbox site before you can use the full whack, e.g. install Dropbox (sign in) on a phone and desktop, send an invite, create a public folder, etc etc.

I created a second account as I don't want to rely on 25Gb then lose it after 2 years. Of course now I have the problem of how to use 2 DB accounts on one computer....

OK, looks like it is between the O2 deal @ £382 (£10.5 x 24 + £180 - £50 TCB) or the Mobiles.co.uk T-Mobile @ £494.37 (£26*21 + £2.99*3 - £60.60 TCB) ....
So, can the HOX be unlocked easily - I think I read somewhere that O2 will let you do that if you have a contract anyway ?? Is this right away, as that would save some hassle....otherwise, the attraction of an unlocked one (with a decent plan) is perhaps the way forward....
