*** The official HTC One X thread ***

Damn, have just noticed that unlike my desire it only has green and orange led. Might stick with the nexus now. Boo. Pretty important feature for me.

The desire and nexus have every colour under the sun

This seems like the best deal at the moment:

Mobiles.co.uk

T-mobile 24 months
300 mins, Unlimited texts, 750mb data
3 months at £2.99 via redemption
£26.00 a month for 24 months

Plus £60.60 back from Topcashback.

Overall that equals £494.37 total cost which is £20.60 a month :)

Anybody seen better?

Hopefully Robertnpmk's girlfriend doesn't read this :D

Grrrrrrr

ohwell. she is happy with what she is paying. she got to go pick it up from store very next day.

Good point about the notification LED there.

Does the one X only blink green for a few minutes if you have a missed call, text etc.?

On the one S it does this, however, I am not sure if that is the way that it is suppose to be to try and save power...........or a bug. IMO it should keep blinking until you have activated the device again.

This is the deal I went with, pretty good.
Not keen on 24 months but Im sure I will cope.

EDIT: Any reccomended cases?
The One X is quite big already and Im not sure how much bulk a case will add.

Does the "light flow" app work on the one X?

would there be any danger charging my One X with my old Nexus one charger? Both Inputs and Outputs are exactly the same on the new plug/usb 3 pin plug (oneX) and my straight up nexus one plug.

Nexus One plug

HTC P/N : 79H00055-37P
INPUT : 100-240V ~ 200mA 50-60Hz
OUTPUT : 5V --- 1A LPS

New OneX Plug/USB

P/N : 79H00110 - 00M
INPUT : 100 - 240V ~ 200mA 50-60Hz
OUTPUT : 5V ---1A LPS

According to the verge review, nope:

There's a notification LED embedded underneath the earpiece grille which is quite bright and easy to make out in any light, but it's not very versatile. In Settings, you can configure it to blink for email, new messages, missed calls, and so on, but all of the notifications are green (except for charging, which is orange). The LED doesn't appear to support pulsing (or "breathing," as Nokia calls it) and it isn't a true RGB light, so it can't be configured to blink any color you want like the Galaxy Nexus can using a utility like Light Flow. In fact, we weren't able to get Light Flow working correctly at all on the One X, even in the HTC-specific "Direct Mode."

And I am guessing that it will be the same for the one s :(

Seems like the one x notification LED is pretty poor as well. Why couldn't HTC just have kept the notification LED the way it was on previous handsets

Other than the lack of colours (which I'm not fussed about), I quite like mine. No issues seeing the LED at all.

The Sensation one is much worse.

any chance s3 will have one? if so ill go with that lol

I couldn't care less about the choice of colours either, the main issues I have with it is:

- looks a bit tacky just being placed under the ear piece grill IMO, would have been better separate
- only blinks for a few minutes and the blinks are very quick/short, not a nice pulsing effect
- very hard to see when outside on a bright day, lets just say you won't see it with a quick glimpse
- at a bit of an angle, it is more difficult to see

Well for the one S anyway......

@al4x

Rumours are that it will :)

I would be very surprised if it didn't have one.

It was one of the only negatives the S2 had and the S3 should have very similar dimensions to the Nexus which Samsung manufacture, the Nexus notification led is excellent imo.

yes it is, its huge and with light flow 100% customizable, i would rather it be at the top of the screen, I hope it does have!

Its one of those features that no one will complain about if its there, but if it isnt people will moan, so why did HTC go backward.. oh well ill be looking at the S3 now!

people seriously base their phone purchase on a small led flashing light? just lol

majority of the time its in your pocket anyway

yeah, i dont like waking it up all the time, and if its far away i can tell who has text me and whether i can be bothered to answer, if i have no signal etc etc

A stock android rom cant come soon enough for me, absolutely tearing my hair our with sense. Just too many layers to get through,

The hardware is beautiful and is the reason i went One X over what probably might be a better phone in the S3, as good as the S3 will be im bored of samsungs designs
