*** The official HTC One X thread ***

Two reasons really:

1. HTC are going to ruin it with HTC Sense, and that makes it significantly less exciting

2. It will take months for it to arrive at the very least

It's not really going to be up to your mobile provider unless you've got a carrier modified ROM, in which case it will take even longer.

This is the most interesting thing: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737736

However it's going to be a while before it's worth using.

Does anyone know of any good and reasonably prices cases for the OneX? I've already got a very small scratch on my screen and due to the sticking out camera laying it on my desk I've already got a scratch on that, but luckily it's not in direct view of the actual camera lense so quite lucky.

People that are still getting WiFi issues - are your phones from launch? Mine's a few weeks old and WiFi is stronger than my iPhone or iPad.

On a semi-related note: You've got to try Dead Trigger on this thing. It's absolutely gorgeous.

Shortly after launch - mines a week 24.

I only noticed the problem about 3-4 weeks ago though - initially as bad battery drain, then traced it down to the WiFi (squeeze test positive, and much better battery life with the WiFi turned off).

I've had mine since launch, I've noticed a wifi issues, it looses signal if I hold the phone at the top and more often than not refuses to lock back back on to gsm after it's lost gsm signal.

Well I am now on my second One X as first one has a microphone that only worked when it felt like it so Orange sent a replacement out today.

One thing I have been experiencing problems with is how the handset displays contact pictures, it happened both on my old phone and now the new one. I have the contacts uploaded via GMail and through Facebook but the contact pictures look extremely low quality in the 'People' tab or when I receive an sms/phone call. Even if I add a different picture or a contact from new it still does the same thing.

See below for the poor quality pictures, in that example the contact picture was taken from my old One X at full resolution yet displays terribly

This happens for all contacts, no matter how they are added or synced. Any ideas?

That contact images bug is an ancient problem with Android, I'm not sure if it's fixable.

I know they've done some things to fix it in JellyBean.

That bug is with Google itself. If you place a HD picture on the contact then it will work fine up until the moment that the phone syncs with Google Contacts which then resizes the image to 96x96. They have now upped this for Jellybean to about 250x250 IIRC (I may be wrong with the new size).

What I don't get is why this is only working on JB if its the Google server side that has been upped
