So I installed the venom rom and yesterday was my first real days usage with the phone. The rom is very fast but I have to say the battery life is terrible! It was down to 20% by mid day. I have it synced to our exchange server and I'm wondering if push email is the main culprit.

Can't wait to see benchmarks on the S when it gets jellybean.

Also the audio has much improved, although once again they say the cleanest output they have ever heard yet you look at their test and compare it to the S and GS 3, those two are still better :p :confused:

I am sure that with the bigger battery and jellybean/sense +, battery life is much better as well now.

This is what the X should have been from the start (although still should have had the S4 chipset :p)

From my own personal experience going from a One X to a S3 was the biggest mistake ive ever made, touchwiz has to be one of the worst things ever and yet people complain about sense.....

Hardware wise its a great phone so i dont know what to do, might end up rooting and putting a aosp rom on or something as I like the microsd etc

PITA tbh, was all set on the nexus 4 but gone off that now too, the only other option is the one x+ but its crazy money
 
Just had a read through the one X+ review on android central, seems very positive apart from the battery :confused: Although I always take battery comments on these review sites with a pinch of salt :p

And they mentioned about USB OTG being supported on sense V4+ now! :D (skip to 2.25 for the USB OTG feature)

Really can't wait for this new sense V4+ version, looks really good and apparently the white balance is much better on the camera app too :cool: (read it on a forum elsewhere)

Annoying that you can't remove that power saving thing from the notification bar though.....

just got another onex today, simply couldnt get on with sgs3 so back to where I started :) Its a sim free one with correct cid to flash jb just wondering if its actually worth it or should i just hold out for ota.... decisions decisions

Wait for OTA
The JB that was leaked is buggy and you will need to update your HBOOT for it to work. This means you will have trouble getting the OTA as retrograding HBOOT is tricky if not impossible. Essentially, you will have to wait for a standalone flashable version of the OTA to be released for you to get the official version if you go to the leaked JB now.
 
What about a development version of Android 4.1?

Just bought a damaged device with a cracked screen. How tricky is it to replace the glass? Any ideas on where to source an original gorilla glass screen from? the LCD seems fine, although there might be issues with the epoxy between the gorilla glass and digitiser or digitiser and LCD as I noticed some yellow tinging towards the edge. I'm not sure if this is due to heat or screen brightness. Should I just go for the glass or go for glass and digitiser, would it be easier to replace two instead of one?

I dont think its the easiest of things to do as the screen is attached to the whole phone assembly, when you crack it open your left with the case and the phone. I'ts probably bonded together so will require a heatgun etc to seperate the glass and digitiser I think, i might be wrong but i doubts its a quick and easy fix

Just watched a youtube guide and it doesnt actually look all that difficult, just a bit fiddly, id possibly go with the whole unit if it was me trying, the bay will be a good place to start

I looked for YouTube guides, some seemed to be for the US version of the one x, so not sure how relevant they are.

Alo I noticed some yellowing of the screen due to epoxy, anyone else had this?

Right, been playing with my X for a couple of weeks and the battery sucks on this phone.

I'm still on 4.0.3 and have not done any updates since I got it. I'm aware of putting custom roms on it but which one you think its best for me? I'm not too fused with JB/ICS or Sense it has but a good balance between the battery and performance.

Also I want the ability to downgrade my HBOOT if I required because I read on the XDA forums that its not possible if you have a higher version.

Any ideas?
 
Waiting for an upgrade if I'm honest.

1st One X had a poor wifi signal then stopped charging.
2nd One X had poor wifi.
3rd One X had a loose volume rocker.
4th One X was fine but after a few weeks developed the same wifi issue.

HTC have been of little help, simply offering a further repair. No thanks, I'm on a 12 month contract and will go with another brand.
 
I can't even be bothered updating my phone now, these ARHD released come out almost daily and there seems no difference for me, the phone is still crap, and the camera on it just seems to get crapper every day dunno what's going on.
