*** The official HTC One X thread ***

HTC M7 about to be announced. Almost exactly 12 months since the One X was announced and released.

How do people find Sense compared to vanilla Jelly Bean?

How do people find Sense compared to vanilla Jelly Bean?

Its ok, i can only compare to my nexus 7 but my big bug bear with sense was that it slowed the phone down. With the JB update its pretty darn smooth. You could always use a custom rom if you wanted.

does anybody know if the HTC one x plus still gets the fee dropbox and would people still buy one now the nexus 4 is here???

I think you do still get free 25gb of dropbox for 2 years with a new One x. CPW have a deal on at the minute... one x 32gb, urbeats headphones and htc media link for £479.99. a lot of money but you could sell the headphones for circa £70 and the media link for around £50.

From what ive read the nexus 4 is an awesome bit of kit for the money. The only think that put me off was storage (16gb just isnt enough for me) and the speaker is apparently abit quiet.

One x is still a great phone :)

Just wondering, under storage then under app storage you have 3 stat boxes saying how much data is used for Apps, Other and Avaliable.

What is "Other"? I only have 1.76gb spare in app storage and its worrying me abit. The "Other" files usage is at 4.69gb!

cheers

*EDIT* no worries, just found out its the OS itself :P

Anyone have/had problems with the HTC Calendar app syncing since the last update? My calendar won't sync from my phone to the desktop/tablet.
If I create an entry on Googlemail calendar web interface or my Nexus 7, the appointment will get synced to my calendar on the phone. However, if I create an appointment on the HTC calendar app on the phone, it doesn't get synced to either the tablet or Googlemail calendar on the web .

So far I have tried with no success:
- Manually sync calendar
- Made sure that my Googlemail account is selected when creating a new appointment.
- Restarted phone
- Cleared calendar app data, turned off sync, then turned on sync.

The Google calendar app is syncing from phone to desktop, just not the HTC calendar app. I would use the Google calendar widget but in agenda view, it only shows the appointments for the next week and is static. The HTC widget show all appointments and allows you to scroll through the calendar.

Hi,

Can anyone provide any more information on my situation?

I'm got a stock JB firmware,4.0.3 and was wondering if i update to the latest OTA for my carrier / phone. Can I still have that possibility to root if I need to?

Anyone got a One X + yet? it any good?

I have one. Bought it back in November.

It's a nice upgrade from my Sensation, but I wouldn't go for one now with the HTC M7/One, Xperia Z, S4, etc... just around the corner.

The hardware is up to the usual HTC standard, and the screen is very nice. I can't stand AMOLED screens so that's why I went with the One X+ rather than a GS3 or N4.

Battery life is alright if you're careful with it. Can usually manage a full day with light to moderate usage. Gaming or browsing will kill the battery pretty quickly though, even over wifi.

The bootloader can be unlocked via HTC, but you will still be S-ON. This means that you need to flash a kernel seperately via fastboot, instead of as part of a rom package.

A minor annoyance, but better than not being able to do it at all.

And lastly the dev community for it is quite small atm, but still fairly active. There are builds of ViperS, OrDroid, InsertCoin, Elegancia, CM10, CM10.1, AOKP & ParanoidAndroid available as of now.
