*** The official HTC One X thread ***

It isn't luck, I'd say 99%~ of devices are fine and a few batches are dodgy. It happens.

Yeah. I got the SGS II on launch day.. the first batch available and it has been perfect for me, none of the screen issues, microphone issues or other related issues reported when the device first came out. It's just another one of them Murphy's Law thing.

Hi All,

Got my HOX yesterday, but am trying to work out how to get hold of this software update that came out a few days ago? How can I check if I already have it, and how can I actually update it? If I go to 'software updates' under 'About' it says none are available.(Android n00b here :) )

This is on a Vodafone contract BTW

Mine says Software Number: 1.26.161.2

Thanks!

Same with my tmo One X...guess its just a case of waiting till its pushed to your device. Tbh the update isnt that major from what i have been reading...its just a small minor one. Think theres a bigger one to come but no idea when.

Had my One X for a few days now and have to say I'm impressed with it.

I'm on Orange and they seem to have held back with a lot of the bloatware they stuck on other HTC phones I've had, I can only find 2 Orange apps....

Got 1.26 s/ware, but have not seem any issues so far.

The only issue I did have was the 'loading' message when going back to home screen, I think this was mentioned in this thread somewhere. A factory re-set sorted this.

Battery life has not been great so far, but I've been fiddling with it flat out....

Do Vodafone charge extra for tethering? (i.e. using my phone as a wifi hotspot and then browsing off my laptop using the phone's wifi setup). I know they do for the iphone but does this apply to all contracts?

Thanks

Anyway.... Does Sense/ICS collate appointments from all sources into your calendar for display on the lock screen? I assume Outlook comes as standard, how about windows live and Facebook? Also can you get contacts (phone etc) from windows live and Facebook, and can you link contacts together and have just one with multiple sources (outlook, sim, Facebook etc)?

I'm guessing from the lack of replies this is a NO with Android? If that's the case then a rather large step backwards...:(

Not entirely understanding what you're after, but Sense/ICS lets you associate accounts from different sources under one (e.g. SIM/Facebook/G+/Twitter), though not sure about Windows Live.

You can link contacts/calendars/emails from various accoutns all together in the people center so everything is displayed as once. Its actually really simple and will auto suggest likely people to merge together.

dropbox
evernote
exchange
facebook
flickr
google
htc account
mail (pop3/imap)
microsoft hotmail
skydrive
twtter

and yes they are all viewable on lock screen as if they were one account

Excellent, thanks. I asked it twice before and no one answered. :p

So for the final part I assume Facebook events are automatically put in your calendar?

Cool, another question I just thought of... Are there still issues with purchasing apps/games and having to pay fees from banks on Android or has that been sorted out?

No because the apps are priced in £ what you're talking about is when some apps were in $ which was changed a year or so ago.

might be looking at this on a new 3 contract to replcae my galaxy nexus. long story

whats the camera like compared to the nexus? The nexus is really good in dim light

Overall it's better, a lot of publications consider the One X camera to be the best out there. I'm not so sure about that, but it's excellent.
