***The Official iPhone 3.0 Thread***

May sound like a silly question but if I'm half way through a lengthy text or email and I notice a typo at the start is there a quick way to move the cursor to that location to delete and correct? other than tapping in the area with my finger (which can be fiddly at the best of times) like and arrow key of sorts?

Hope this make sense :)

Tap and hold your finger in roughly the right place and a magnifing glass will appear.

Just drag your finger left or right to position the cursor and carry on :)

3.1 will need to be bloody amazing in order for me to not sell my iPhone.

The thing is a slow, buggy mess. (I initially upgraded but then tried a clean install and both are crap).

A short summary of my experience so far...

I've had random bugs, like the keyboard disappearing in the Messages app, or the landscape mode going haywire (not redrawing correctly) when using Wiki Mobile.

I did a recovery restore when I installed 3.0, and did not restore from any backups, but I can't say I've noticed any severe lagging or problems.

Those screenshots look pretty bad. Submitted the crash details to Apple?

It's a 3G, BluZiff.

I haven't submitted the crash details (assuming you mean a crash report as one doesn't appear) but I'm having a very weird time with the phone to be honest.

There are times when the thing is so laggy it's ridiculously frustrating (typing on the keyboard particularly) and at the moment it's just as sharp as it was Pre-3.0. It's like it takes moods like a woman... :p

I do have hourly push e-mail so I'll turn that off and see if it continues to slow down but that's pretty bad if it can't handle that without choking to death.

One thing i LOVE about the iphone/itunes is that it backs up the phone everytime you sync! not just calendar and notes, i mean phone numbers, and text messages.....I have messages going back 6 months and thousands and thousands !
