Anyone looking forward to this? I thought that King Arthur 1 was pretty underrated and overlooked.

I was too used to the total war games and the king arthur game didnt seem so polished and i wasnt so keen on the controls. Saying that though this one looks improved so may try a demo if there is one.

Out later today,

Paradox Interactive also released a playable demo of King Arthur II, giving you the chance to try out this fantasy/role-playing RTS sequel developed byNeocore Games. This demo gives players a taste of what's to come, allowing champions of Britannia to play through the title's tutorial and first mission. With an expected gameplay session of about 60 minutes, King Arthur fans will be able to manage their army and territories, and lead their battalion into battle. King Arthur II will launch on January 27th, 2012.

Really liked #1 , the control points gave the battles a nice tactical feel rather than the line up and charge style a lot of these games offer.

Its not a easy game to take good looking screenshots, it is a pretty game though and performance is quite good - q6600, 4gb ram, 6870.

Didn't measure fps but it just felt "smooth".

...battle.

You control the game from the perspective of the first 3 screenshots, when you zoom in on a battle, it looks a tad dissapointing not quite as visceral as total war. People just sort of fall over not quite as engaging as you would expect.

The size of the battlefields is impressive.

The performance in relation to graphics quality is far better than KA 1 I would say.

Yeah, looks great from a distant view but when you feel like zooming in to see a battle you expect a epic clash of steel...and it just doesn't deliver. Boring battles let it down for me a bit.

If you get this game, and you have seriously long load times and performance is extremely bad then do this.

Go to steam\steamapps\common\kingarthur ii and launch KingArthurII_AutoSetup.

The game will then not take ages to load and performance will be much improved if you're experiencing this issue. You will have to tweak the video settings every time you do this.

Do this every time to play the game instead of launching it from the steam library.

I'm not sure how common this problem is but I found a few people with the same problem, whether its the norm I'm not certain.

Just got this and had a quick bash (day off tomorrow will allow for more in depth play). First impression: looks better than the first, but it seems to be very demanding on my gpu and runs like a dog if I try to apply AA to all those little trees, but at 1440p its always a big hit. It feels a lot like a shiny version of the first with a bit more of the RPG element in the balance. Looking forwards to seeing if it's as buggy as the first one.
