***The Official King Arthur 2 Thread***

Playing through Dead Legions at the moment and first early impressions are that it's slightly more polished and balanced than the first. More emphasis on the RPG/Adventure pieces too, which is nice.

I'll need to finish this prologue and get to the real game though to see whether it becomes the utterly frustrating grind-fest that the first one became once the third act was underway.

After a few days of playing this, I am officially bored.

The thing that bugs me most is that the battle maps are all hills and pointy things that the camera doesn't like navigating. I like that it makes the battles more complex, but I'd rather have more open maps that don't have stuff getting in the way all the time so I can see without moving the camera around the whole time.

The RPG element is a bit strong for my taste, with construction of buildings in each province, then assigning provinces to appropriate heroes, then forging new artifacts and distributing them, all taking up more playtime than the battles (which for me are the fun bit).

Also, the voice acting is abysmal. The artwork is all badass for the character who is supposed to be speaking, and this completely incongruous pansy voice comes out, or something equally inappropriate. Not a huge issue, but while you plow through diplomacy/artifact quests you have to listen to them drone on in their heavily period-based accents.

I preferred the first one, although at least this is less buggy, looks better, and has better units/balance. I just feel the SP is incredibly dry. If you like spending 15 mins working out which ring/amulet/armour you want to put on your hero every time you get something new, it's for you.

This has popped up on the Steam Mid Week sale 40% off, £17.99. However, I've read that the retail box comes with exclusive DLC. I can't find anywhere that says what it is though! Anyone know? Also, is it a Steamworks game?

I loved the first one and just played the demo of the second one. I've only had a quick go, so I need to give it some time but I wasn't too sure about it ... something seemed not quite right in the battle section. Also, the two dragons at either side of the control panel look pretty but start to encroach on the screen real estate :/ Is there a way of toggling the control panel on or off?
