You can buy AppleCare+ from Apple which IMO is entirely worth it.

I'm inclined to agree with this, it makes it so easy if ever you need to get something fixed. If you've got AppleCare+, they just do it.

Anyone have any thoughts on 128GB of RAM? I tend to buy one of these machines and keep it until they stop supporting it. My last purchase was a late 2013 MBP which had a max 16GB of RAM which I chose and am glad I did.

But don't know if 128GB is overkill if I am going to keep this one for a decade or more?

Serious overkill. I mean, proper serious overkill.

Only you can answer that. Look at Activity Monitor, look at your current memory usage. You have 16Gb, are you using it all? If so, and you're into swap, how much swap are you using?

I think the Blackbook looks great. But I’ll never have one, the MBA does more than I need from a laptop.

M2 Max Ultra

Huh?
Max or Ultra? Two different things. There’s not a Max Ultra. And the Ultra chip isn’t available in the MacBook Pro.

The surface isn’t coming off of the black one because it’s not a coating. They made a big thing of that.

But no, you’re not boring. I like the silver, I’m not so sure about the Blackbook.
