Going from an M1 Max to an M2 Ultra looks like a rather nice upgrade. How much do you think an M1 Max, 32GB of RAM and 512GB SSD would be worth second-hand in excellent condition?

That was sold in Costco Black Friday deal for £1800. Take away VAT...that's like £1500. I would say somewhere around £1000 on the bottom side and £1200 would be reasonable.

It sounds about the same as I was thinking. Hmm. Decisions decisions.

When I first heard about the new Mac Studio, I immediately wanted to upgrade but having had a few hours to think about it, I think I will hold off. I can still do iOS development quite comfortably on my M1 Max Mac Studio, and I don't really need to upgrade. I feel like saving money would be the more sensible (but boring) option.

So from the rumours the M4 Mac Studio is due out between March and June 2025. I'm keeping my eyes open for news about it.

I assume you guys are all doing hardcore video editing. Otherwise there is little point to the studio no?
