Stuck on 94.4MB downloaded, as it seems is the rest of the internet. This is hilariously bad. It's not even downloading anything!

Mine's on 2.55GB, not tooo terrible after an hour.

e: I jinxed it, installation failed

e: Restarted it and now on 964mb...

RC2 to public required a 2GB update to bring it up to build 20B29.

Apple have really dropped the ball here. It's at least a known/acknowledged issue now: https://www.apple.com/uk/support/systemstatus/

I feel for their Admins trying to have so many people download at the same time and for it to be going wrong.

not great. Was excited to get my new (second hand) MBP tonight and was hoping to get Big Sur installed at 6, then spend the evening setting up and moving documents across etc. That's completely out of the window now

Same, I've seen a few slow downloads and occasional errors from some users, but not taking out core Apple services. Even their website was down earlier. I'd had to be their sysadmins right now.

Well the download was very much successful this morning after last night's palaver. Currently sat staring at a Terminal window waiting for the bootable USB to build so I can wipe this eBay laptop and have a very fresh build.

Mine went smoothly this morning on a 2016 MBP - took about 45 minutes from pressing download to completing the install. Looks good so far.

My new MBP updated without a hitch first thing this morning after falling over repeatedly last night. So far so good, iMac to update next.
