No they don't fill the exact same roll, one is ultra book with tablet compatibility although rubbish compatibility. The other is a tablet with resonable ultra book compatability.
You go get a 13.3" tablet and see if your thumbs reach the middle, unless you have giant hands they wont. Then weight and thickness is rubbish as well.
1.9lbs vs 3.1lbs.
Hhhhmmm, Looking at prices on eBay I might manage £550 after fees for selling my Pro 128 + Touch Cover.
New 256GB one is £1038 + another keyboard (£ 109.99)
So £1147.99 or £599.99 over my current setup.
Not sure this is great value.
I doubt it. It just said "Pro 2 256GB" on the screen. No further details.
2.96lbshow heavy is a macbook air `3inch?
If MS had priced the 256GB version at the price of the 128GB one they'd have completely nailed it price wise. 256GB SSD's aren't that expensive these days so we shouldn't be having to pay through the nose for it on a tablet.
JL store? if so i may take a look. They selling them already?
It was John Lewis. I had only gone there to see fi I could test a type keyboard, as my touch keyboard still frustrates me when typing up docs. and the sales guy started talking to me about the Surface 2. He then showed me on their computer their listings for the Pro 2 with prices matching what MS did announce for the 64GB and 128GB. The 256GB was listed as 899 but these weren't official prices and you couldn't order. I suspect that they were just placeholders until MS announced the prices.
Are MS offering a trade in of gen 1 Surface RT against the new one?
POB, how much would you want for your Pro? I probably can't afford it mind, but worth an ask .
So the Surface RT is the *old* surface RT, the Surface 2 is the *new* Surface RT, and the Pro 2 is obviously the new Pro?
That computer component notorious for having a high priceIts not just a bigger ssd, you're also paying for double the ram.
Sorry to disappoint, before the site stopped loading the Pro the prices were:
64GB £719
128GB £799
256GB £1039 (with 8GB RAM)
512GB £1439 (with 8GB RAM)
I did take screen shots if anyone wants proof but it isn't something
worth lying about.
The USB 3.0 and micro HDMI ports, however, are hidden by a cover that dangles and destroys the minimalist design. Unfortunately, the microSD slot, placed at the top right corner on the rear of the device, also gets the same cover treatment. Word of advice - get a tweezer ready, as the microSD card is very tricky to extract from its housing slot.
