And finally the Winows Store has Fifa 14.

Except it only supports touch (And it's classed as one of those Xbox titles....................)

So, if you're on a normal PC/Laptop, it doesn't work.

That's not MS's fault, as it's the same on Android/iOS (But all their devices that run it are touch screen)

Wouldn't you get Fifa 14 from the origin store if you wanted k+m, controller input?

It's not that clear cut when there's an MS store though, I have Fifa 14 on Origin (Digital deluxe).

But when MS are operating what they are, it's unacceptable it's unusable on some of the devices (Due to touch only) that's EA's fault, however making it an "Xbox" title would also make MS carry some blame (Given that's one of the points of the Surface, native Xbox 360 controller support what with this "Xbox" title lark). Same as on my Z1 it natively (Well...) works with my PS3 controller to play games, again Fifa 14 doesn't work.

Depends, the Omni will have better battery life/lighter and is cheaper.
But the build quality and spec is lesser.

The omni strikes me as a classic media consumption device, get a tablet dock with speakers like the Lugalake ones I've recently bought ; http://www.amazon.co.uk/LuguLake-Po...-Wireless/dp/B00FGR5XNQ/ref=pd_cp_computers_1

And I'd say it's an excellent combination.

I anticipate using it for browsing, movie watching, and some light office use (excel and word).

How would the battery life compare for each based on that?

Could also sack the office stuff and go for nexus 10, but cheapest I can see for that is comparable with omni. Nexus got better screen and vanilla android would match my nexus 5 (rooted).

I have a dell venue pro 11 (7130) and can't speak highly enough of it. Cracking tablet, nice screen and good battery life

I was at a party on Saturday, so took my Surface 2 and bluetooth speakers for background noise.

They don't have wifi, so I was using my tether.

When I had the phone tethered, and then tried to connect my speakers, it came up with "Unable to connect due to a metered connection"

However, I turned off the tether, connected them via bluetooth and then did the tether, the music then came out of the bluetooth speakers, until the song was changed (So some pause)

Obviously this looks like a Windows limitation, is there any settings etc?

It's a ridiculous limitation really.

For bluetooth yes, if the os knows what the bluetooth device does, you can turn off the metered connection warnings though.

Hmm, indeed, allowing download over metered connection solves it.

But that makes no sense at all.

They're speakers, but yet Spotify itself works perfect (Which actually does "download" over the metered connection) :p

Couple of questions (don't think I have asked them before!).

With the Surface 2 can you power a portable HDD off it? I'm assuming as it has a full USB 3 socket you can?

Second can it be charged via USB? Again, being an ARM tablet I assume so?

Thirdly, with the Surface Pro 2 I assume it cannot be charged via USB?

My Surface RT could an external HDD so would assume the Surface 2 can do the same thing.

Surface 2 can't be charged through USB as it has its own power connector. The Pro 2 can't be charged by USB either.

Ouch, that's a bit of a kicker! good job I checked. Any particular reason the arm tablet can't be charged via USB whereas all the other ARM tablets can?

It's a shame as that would have been a big positive.

They went with a proprietary connector. The power brick kicks out 24W which is far more than what USB can provide. On the plus side, it does charge up a lot quicker.

This is getting silly now, Surface Pro 64GB + Touch Cover + 1 year Office 365 + £10 store voucher for £399 - £60 quidco = £340!

Microsoft Store have free shipping too...
