*** The Official Nintendo Switch 2 ***

I never buy them usually, but a quick search for reports on Switch 2 screen reveals that because Nintendo already put a plastic coating over the glass (to help prevent the screen getting smashed), that layer actually scratches very easily.

I expect that to be so as they don't put a glass layer on, and if that layer is not meant to be removed then it is as good as a part of the device so I might as well put my own glass layer on.

Even if docked, just do it, I will never see it anyway even if I applied it badly.

Last night without thinking I treated the Switch 2 like my other retro handheld and plugged a USB-C cable into my monitor directly without the dock expecting a video feed...thinking my monitor can provide 60w charging so I could do the whole 1 cable thing.

It took 5 seconds for me to realised that the Switch 2 doesn't output video direct out of the USB-C but need the dock, which is a shame but silly me!

I got the JSAUX 3-Pack Screen Protector, was £6.99 and went on perfect, didn’t bother with the alignment frame.

Also anyone tried Portal 2 it crashes at the title screen, was mid way through this on my OLED switch.

All this talk of screen protectors, has anyone purchased the official case that comes with a screen protector, worth it?

I saw videos of the official case, it looks form fitting on a width perspective but the center part seems like a waste of space as the bottom half on the outside is completely flat.

I've read it's a plastic screen protector. I'd go for a glass one if you can. I went for the 4 pack that was linked on here a few pages back. It's quite thin though.

I'm not sure why they have made it with such a gap in the dock. Maybe for airflow to help disapate the heat.

With regards to the screen, if it was such an issue cost wise to have gone for a 120hz 1080p OLED screen, I'd have preferred they stay at a 60hz either 1080p or 720p OLED screen. Then unleash the power when docked. The screen really is a bit of a let down for me.

Really? I don’t have the oled version to compare to but RGC review just now says it’s very close to the Oled.
