*** The Official Nintendo Switch 2 ***

I’m not sure that’s a given (does Nintendo publish its methodology anywhere?) but in any case, sales charts are not cumulative, well they shouldn’t be cumulative, that would be dumb.

Even if they did count, almost all of those ‘sales’ would have landed in the first few days of the launch which was over a month ago.

All those sales will have now dropped off the charts if they are weekly, fortnightly, or monthly and what you are now seeing is a more natural churn of new console sales (MKW bundle) and existing owners buying stuff from the eShop.
Whether it's a weekly or monthly top 15, it's still impressive that Cyberpunk has overtaken MKW, in my opinion.

One niggle with BOTW, although the terrain draw distance is great and some npcs, I've noticed things appearing/popping up as I get real close, things like the cows/sheep in Hateno village. Not game breaking obv but a bit of an immersion breaker.

I am not noticing it much in ToTK but then BoTW is essentially a Wii U game so it might be that. I am not very sensitive to stuff like that anyway. I intend to play it again after the sequel so I’ll see how they compare.

Experienced a couple of new BOTW things that I hadn't before which was cool.

Shrine with flowers outside
if you repeatedly stand on them, eventually the woman goes nuclear and decks you lol

Another one was when you're tasked to light a furnace, if it's raining the NPC references it as being a reason why you won't be able to do it right away. Love attention to detail like that.

First trip away with the Switch 2 and I can only complement the Killswitch - protected the Switch in my bag while travelling, the grips never fell off; really happy with it!
Spent more time than I should admit playing Mario Strikers on Gamecube NSO - I'd love to see a new version of this! (and Mario Golf!)

Hogwarts Legacy does not need the cartridge after you upgrade to the Switch 2 version. If you can borrow the game it’s only £8 for the Switch 2 version. It looks and runs pretty decent too.

Yeah 3rd party games seemed to have underperformed on Switch 2 so far, except for Cyberpunk which retailers/analysts have reported selling quite well.

If I hadn't already played it on PC I absolutely would have picked it up, it's a great game. It's cool that they got everything on the cartridge too including the expansion.

To be fair the 3rd party offerings at launch have been pretty poor anyway; I'm not surprised most haven't done that well.
There was a huge push to promote Cyberpunk as the example of "what Switch 2 can do" though.

In some respects though I think people have been more keen to see how their existing back catalogue plays on the new hardware rather than buying much of the new stuff (Mario Kart aside)

What are the must have 3rd party titles?

I still think Square made a mistake by not putting out FF7 for the launch or launch window.

I feel what's there is good, there's just not been that many yet.

The eShop chart is apparently "the highest sales for the past three days", which is a sign 3rd party is doing 'fine' in terms of digital.

Good to see that games like SF6, Split Fiction, and Hitman WoA are doing better than Welcome Tour at least

I just bought Fantasy Life: i The Girl Who Steals Time and so far it is pretty good but only played for an hour or so. Will be sitting down with it more later.

MKW is by far my most played game, but I have ~40 hours in Street Fighter 6 too - it's a solid version of a great fighting game, Capcom did a great job with the port.

How does the Switch 2 perform on a TV with VRR? I play Monster Hunter Rise on my Switch 1 and the frame rates stutters are annoying me more as I progress in the game and the worlds get bigger
