They should give priority to Switch online members. Easy way to control to some degree and will boost sign ups.
I remember when the DS first came out. As a club Nintendo member with a Gamecube I got access to buy the handheld a few weeks early from Nintendo. They should do something like that again.

Yea but u had to be a steam member for at least 6 months prior or something like that. You couldn't just grab a bot and make lots of new steam accounts
Well yes but the only equivalent Nintendo could do is limit it to people whi have had an active (paid) Nintendo online account since before the announcement.

I’ve yet to see a compelling reason for anyone to buy one at release it would take an incredible exclusive game or three to tempt me given that they are obviously going to release an OLED version down the line.
I want one ASAP couldn't care less about the screen. I don't have online either so hope they don't limit it to those people.
What makes it such a compelling purchase for you?

I think it's fair to say it's only a compelling day one purchase for most people if there are decent games launching with it but it's Nintendo - you'd expect the lineup will be very good and include a couple of games people will want to play asap, whatever their interests are.
Loved the first one. Kids broke it a few months ago rather than buy another Switch thought I'd wait for the Switch 2. Never use it mobile so for all I care it could have no screen.
