**** The Official Note 4 thread ****

Does it have the same capacity as the OEM battery? I bought around 20 supposedly genuine batteries but the vast majority were fakes (or used with new labels) and returned them for a refund.

A common factor with all of the fakes was that they only had a capacity of 1900-2200mAh and I'm curious whether the 'proper' copies have the full capacity.

Anker usually make high quality products - actual Samsung A or AA rated cells instead of refurbs or B rated that a lot of the knocks off use.

EDIT: From a quick google though looks like some people are even being sent fakes in place of the Anker batteries from some retailers :S

No difference as far as i can tell :)

AnkerDirect are authorised sellers, £13.99.

How are you finding the battery with the 6.0.1 update? personally i think its poor.

So far, it's been good though it's only been on for a day. The battery life yesterday seemed marginally better than 5.1. Today I've got it connected to my Android wear watch so I'll keep an eye on it, but it's doing well so far.

Has anyone noticed that with MM that if you've had Bluetooth on for, say, a couple of hours then switched it off that the battery stats show it as being on since the last time the phone was rebooted.

One neat touch I like in the Battery use stats is that for many processes it shows the mAh used which could be useful for tracking down battery eating apps.

Have Google removed the battery information screen that would show you when the phone was awake/screen on? I can't get to it any more.

Nope, go to battery, then battery usage, and then tap on the graph, it should show up.

So far android 6 is proving to have much better battery life. I've ended the day with 37% including constant Bluetooth for my Android Wear watch, constant checking and chats on WhatsApp, about an hour of calls, and about 3 hours at a mates house which has very very little signal so the phone would have been constantly hunting for a signal.

Very impressed. Some minor lag in some UI elements such as the volume indicators but nothing game changing.

Anyone got an update rom for these phones?

Three have informed myself that they won't be releasing marshmallow for the note 4... which sucks. So I'm going to have to install my own version.

I debranded my Note 4, (Was a vodafone branded item) and have had the generic MM update over the air which was nice.. Because it's a work phone, I wanted to keep knox and all security stuff in place, so this seemed the least obtrusive way of doing it.

Yeah, I'm on Three and got the MM update on my 910C.

I can't quite tell you if this is a Three phone though, I got the contract from a third party who I'd assume provided the phone. How could I tell if it's a Three ROM?

Sorry for being a noob, I'm not sure how the updates work myself :p

I'd be very surprised if Three aren't releasing MM for the Note 4.
Cant see the reason why they wouldn't. Who told you they won't be?

I asked their customer service dept.
They came back with the only version i can use is 5.1.1, and due to stability issues the Marshmellow update wont be applied. And there is no plans to.

I have made an account on Sammobile and am currently downloading the Vanilla Note 4 6.0.1 Software.

Screw three and there slowness

Please post back here with your results as I'm in the same boat. Thanks.

Ok. So it bricked my phone.

It failed at the end and the phone reported that the image was invalid file size.

Now it wont accept anything, Kies wont even restore it.

Sigh

EDIT:

turns out it was a vodaphone rom i tried.

Just paid £7 to join for 2 weeks and now going to try a H3G Rom from Italy.
if that fails then the 5.1.1 from UK Three.

if that all fails then i will cry

Oh dear, hope you get it sorted.

Ok.

Downloaded an Italy H3G Rom.

6.0.1

It installed ok, phew.

Its now finishing the upgrade.

Looks like it was because the first file was for a Vodaphone phone, and for what ever reason it was 300MB larger than the H3G Rom.

Currently Optimizing App's.

EDIT:
Working well.

Lost the H+ signal notification ,it sbeen replaced with LTE, but its the same thing and i can forgive it :)

My old Note 4 given to my parents just started updating with a 1.4gb update on GiffGaff. Assuming it's MM from the posts above. Hope everything goes smoothly.
