***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

.. nothing wrong with crazy.. ;)

So the Lego VIP thing, is that tied to purchases made direct from them or do you get points and register them regardless of where you buy?
There is when you nearly spend over £750 in one month on lego! hahahahaha
The falcon was a personal treat for busting my &^* at work and getting promoted! Saturn V too would be too much of a stretch

lol until the bill makes a thud when it lands on the door mat.... Have you got your falcon yet?
Yeah I had about 3 weeks ago (i think).
Funnily enough i finished it last night......and immediatley knocked into a door frame carrying it and the whole left back quarter fell out. Which promoted frantic lego surgery at 11PM!

Lol reminds me of building the UCS 2017 snowspeeder, all you need to do is touch that one and wings and parts fall off. Really is a model to look at and not touch, but then most of the UCS sets are just that.

My next UCS star wars set will be either Slave 1 or the Snowspeeder.

but i get torn between the fact that the Slave 1 model looks a lot like a hand hoover...... and that the snowspeeder is really fragile as you mentioned.

Getting the slave 1 next when I get paid again. The snowspeeder is amazing to build - just dont touch it once build as it is so fragile, its not a play toy that is for sure. And 26 stickers for the snowspeeder is IMO a few too many.

Most of my lego is still in boxes up in the loft. I cant wait to see the imperial shuttle again.
Just really dont have room to put it all! So perhaps i shouldn't buy anymore for a while!

yes i agree, 26 stickers a bit of a cop out on lego's part.

Do we know when Slave 1 is likely to go end of life?

Only purchases direct from Lego online or Lego stores. Its only really useful for the exclusives as a lot of stuff is cheaper elsewhere.

e.g. Death Star would have earned £20 in VIP points, but I got it from Smyths for £320. :D

Double VIP points runs approx. twice a year, sometimes, individual sets have double/triple VIP points. You have to be aware and make it work for you.

Ahh ok I'm with you, thanks for the info!

Slave 1 is a good build. And not a grey brick in sight (that i remember).

MF collected from work amid many envious looks. Outer packaging shows typical Yodel handling ability but that went in the bin as it wouldn't fit in the car. Inside packaging perfect.

I'd say UCS Tie Fighter and UCS Slave 1 would be better to pick up before the UCS Snowspeeder . Those two have been out for a while, no news on when retired but you never know with UCS sets - the sandcrawler soon went out of stock. I missed that one.

Yeah already have the Tie fighter. Imagine that will be the next one to go end of life

I have the tumbler from batman, and that went end of life quickly if I remember correctly

I've got the tumbler as well, I also just put the tie fighter together. And its bigger then I expected. Over 40cm tall. Hopefully next year I'll be getting a UCS Falcon - I missed the last one.

My favourite set is still the UCS imperial shuttle.
That was a fantastic build and truly magnificent set with the wings spread out.

Thats the one I've ordered from Ali Express and the guy I purchased from is being really awkward. He won't send me the item, I tried to cancel, he sent me a pic to say he has stock, and won't cancel the order. Its got 4 days left until it gets cancelled anyhow by the system, I've reported the seller to Ali Express, anyone buying Lepin sets from Ali Express, I'd avoid the Bricklink Store on there. He doesn't seem too great at getting orders out. Hopefully I get refunded and i'll go buy it elsewhere..

This is the one I really want too. And I'll have to get lepin.
Is renowned for being epic. Even the normal version was awesome..

Agree about the snowspeeder. It looks awesome but try to pick it up and almost always something falls off

Even looking at the mf causes things to fall off!

Indeed - I think overall it's actually less fragile than I was expecting, especially if you're careful to pick it up in the right way (with your hands on the large flat panels underneath)... but it's still very easy to knock the various greebly bits off - after carrying it upstairs at home to get it out of the way I found several tiny bits on the stairs and couldn't for the life of me work out where they came from - so I just stuck them back on wherever :D

The snowspeeder has amazing angles and the design team made a very awkward shape look really smooth and fantastic looking - sadly it has left the model extremely fragile. Its really hard to even lift it into the display stand, but it does look stunning..

My complaint to Ali Express resulted in the seller providing a tracking number, hopefully its real and the item arrives. DHL recognised the number so fingers crossed.
