***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

I know you wasn't... Back in the early 80s when I got my first lego set, the car chassis set number 8860, I thought, wow, how can they possibly make anything as good as this again? Now, kit 42056 Porsche 911 GT is with us and its just outstanding how far its really all come. Incredible models being produced with a plastic brick.

Didn't mean to suggest you were ;)

It really is remarkable, I'm really excited to wrap up my Saturn V and look at what to build next. Maybe not until after Xmas though :(

Ah your into Lego now. Welcome AFOL (Adult Fan of Lego) - you''ll be building shelves soon to store them all.

Just about half way through a UCS super star destroyer. And its massive. One of the biggest UCS sets I've assembled - its been sat in the loft for years , but now I'm building it.

Thanks, I'm here to stay :) literally have 2 shelves and the Saturn will take up one, and the xwing takes up the other! Oh my

That build looks huge!

DISASSEMBLE!!!
Then reassemble in to something totally different losing half the parts, then get upset when trying to rebuild with half the parts missing.
This is my little boy within two days of getting a Lego set. He has a 8 knob Lego brick storage container full of Lego sets so full that the lid also has Lego set bits.

All done! The size is super intimidating :D heavier than I expected too! Overall a great fun build that had a few challenging fiddly bits. The sections come apart and click back together really firmly

I can't keep it on the coffee table! ;) would if I could :D

I have 1 shelf in my "man cave" so it will go there for now! I would like to display it broken up in to the individual sections but it doesn't come with enough stands for that. I managed to pull it off for a picture but bit was balancing on weight alone right in the centre point of like a seesaw motion

I'm not too sure, before this came in stock I almost pulled the trigger on the F40 so maybe that buy yeah I think it would be wise to wait until the new year, finance wise ;)

Still unable to get the Saturn V, very frustraiting. Saw John Lewis had it the other day and by the time i got home from work it had sold out. Are Lego deliberately under producing models now to make them appear more collectible due to short supply?

I don't know what is going on, the bigger or more adult focused sets are without doubt getting troublesome to find. Even the larger lego and ninjago sets are becoming hard to obtain after a certain time. The UCS falcon launch was a good example.

Have you signed up to get an email when it's back in stock? Worked well for me and they had stock for a day or 2 after, worth doing if you haven't already!

Also on the page before hand it had a note saying stock arriving very soon in red so I knew to look out for the email etc

I can tell you first hand that isn't the case!

Ordered mine the other day.
Got despatch notification at 8am.
Got message to say it has been returned as address illegible at 11am.

Should have just done store pick up...

Just bad timing i reckon for John Lewis as a friend said they had them available, I have no done the notify by email thing, so next time, assuming they get stock I should get one.
but the lego store you can't even order. and Yeah the UCS Falcon they knew that would be huge, and advertised it to be huge and still under produced for no reason.

Automatic refund as Royal Mail couldn't deliver as they couldn't read the address (the address printed on the label i presume).
John Lewis pretty useless as they won't despatch it again.
More stock due (4000 units apparently) start November so its been pre-ordered

Update: Royal Mail will try to deliver it today (20th). No idea if it will actually turn up or not as they giving conflicting info.

Been looking through this thread and it's really making me want to go out and buy some sets. Thinking of starting with the red F40. Would look good on my desk but I've never used Lego since I was a kid
