The only bespoke-ness is the colour. All the brick shapes themselves, from what people have derived from the information available at the moment, are part of the existing Lego range.

Its very easy to assume something is just full off custom bits, but in reality very few parts are specifically made for a single set. Some of the ways things are used is very clever.

Seriously tempted to pick them up on ebay. My son loves the SW stuff but I prefer the castle and kingdom sets. More for the money without paying Lucas/Disney a cut.

I had the 6080. Still got what I assume is most of the parts sitting in a box somewhere in my old dear's loft :D

I think the wheels maybe? Not seem them before...

I did find the design video interesting though. The wheel archs are actually the clear plastic windscreens, but made in green for the first time... very clever.
 
The wheel centres are likely custom, that's true. Although based on the innards of an existing wheel.

It does bug me a bit when people see those triangle panels used in a lot of technic kits now and go "look it's just one moulded custom piece". Those triangle things are a work of genius. I've seen the same bit used for plane wings, car panels, car doors, boat hulls, ship sails, helicopter panels, bike fenders, and crane cabs. The design is brilliantly clever.
 
What a complete pain.
Got Jabbas palace for my son in January on a good deal from amazon, put up for his birthday. Putting together bag 2 today, a snapped piece. Got to bag 3 and all the faces are missing from the three figures :(

Wow that is bad! Never had any quality issues with Lego
 
It's worse than I thought.

Started filling in a missing pieces log. A bag within bag 3 is missing. I'm missing way way over 60 pieces. I am missing 40 of one brick alone. Light tan brown 2 dimple long. Amazon are taking it back, which is lucky but it's almost out of stock everywhere. So I have to spend £35 more than I paid to make sure I get one.

I will then write a letter of complaint to Lego.

I have delayed the amazon pick up until friday to give lego time to come back to me. Then if Lego can sort it out I can return the John Lewis order :)

The snapped piece was weird enough in a sealed box but Bag 3 having half the contents missing was the only time so far the contents has let me down. You know when the Bag normally has another bag of smaller bits in, all that is missing.

I think someone had been down the pub when they packed this box :(
 
I've had one build with 2 pieces missing, I think it is a Technics F1 car but Lego has a page on the site I think where you can request missing pieces, but if you a missing like 60 pieces then it's a bit of a hassle to requests all these.
 
Just found out there is a 4th minecraft set...gf spotted it in Smyths, so have that to add to the others when i get time to make it :D
