Hi all,

So i installed window's 7 last night and was windering are you happy so far with theway it looks and feels.

First thing that annoyed me was when you go into your picture folder and you see your music folder also in there as you have pics for your album artwork in your music folder. Yes you can remove the folder but i thought this is a pain.

anyone else have anything good or bad to say about it.

yeah i love it, when i first installed the final release via work 2 months back i was a little hmmm that's odd, but it's second nature now. Its a solid release, yes bugs will be there but support for this is going to be strong and MS are 100% behind it, they have also rallied up and generated lots of support from all the big players, something that was missing with with Vista in the early days. im very happy with it, i will also add it has given a new lease of life to my ageing laptop that struggled with Vista but runs Win7 lovely. The HP software that i needed for the finger print reader was so slow and sluggish, Win7 has it built in and all in all the laptop runs so much better now. Very happy.

Love it - apart from one thing and that's no classic start menu.

There are a few out there but they're just not as good as the old one.

Its great, been using it since the early beta's

Currently running it on the RC version, have my copy coming soon but in no rush to upgrade it as the RC version been great for me - no issues at all

I've been running Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit since the RTM was available on MSDN, taking advantage of the 30day trial before my preorders arrived. All computers are now activated and up and running.

Setting up the computer network was so easy with homegroups, all PCs were sharing files and pictures in a matter of minutes without any troubles.

Drivers have been available right from the word go and I've had no stability or program compatibility proBlems what so ever. The only driver problem I had was with the conservatory PCs wireless dongle, a Netgear WN111v2. I managed to get the Vista drivers working eventually. However, this is a problem with Netgear not Windows 7.

My mum & dad got into the swing of Windows 7 quickly, my mums a big fan of the new systray. She usually has various Word, internet and Powerpoint documents up for work and it makes "navigating through them all that bit easier." /EndQuote]

Overall my parents are happy with the upgrade and I'm chuffed to bits! :D

Good enough, but I seem to be one of the few who had used Vista since day one and had nearly zero issues with it. Still it's new and shiny, that's a good enough reason to upgrade even if it feels exactly the same as Vista to me :)

I feel the same, Vista was one of Microsofts most underated OSs ever. You hear people slagging it off left right and centre about how it was slow, buggy and hogged ram but I felt it was a breath of fresh air since day of release. I don't see how people can still be using XP in this day and age, everything about it feels prehistoric!

I only use Vista ,Win7 and Linux,my old XP has been replaced awhile back by superior operating systems,Vista, Win7 etc.... all working great with no issues not more to be said really :).

I do wish the FUD would stop about Vista etc ..these people really don't have a clue what they are saying,as to Win7 I hope it does not get any FUD because like Vista its an excellent OS that deserves full recommendation .

Ive installed it and replaced Vista x64. To be honest it pretty much looks and feels like vista with a few UI tweaks.

Although I had no problems running vista on my rig before. It was fast and with 6 Gig of Ram I never had a problem. I only bought Win 7 during the pre-order stage as it was cheap and I knew Id install it one day. I just got bored the other day and thought Id chuck it on anyway.

Im only 2 days in, perhaps Ill notice improvments other than UI stuff in the near future...

So far so good, everything is running pretty smoothly but still need to install a fair few things on.

Same here, too many people slagged it off when half of the time it wasn't the OS but other software playing up. As with every OS you have a problem here or there but on the whole Vista was fine for me.
