Waited a whole 23 minutes for a response before bumping his own post, patient....
Apparently the screen tapering at the bottom is more aggressive than the 6 and is annoying some users. Thoughts?
Looks pretty annoying alright, think I'll keep an eye out for a deal on the 6 instead. The T doesnt really offer much more, the screen fingerprint is a gimmick imo, bigger battery is great but I'd much rather have a headphone jack and notification light.
You can return an 'unwanted item providing it's unused and in it's original packaging'. You do not have 14 days to try out your device (as Apple allow) in order to see if you like it and return it for a refund 'no questions asked' if you don't.
Unlike Apple JL is a retailer not a manufacturer. This does not affect your statutory rights under the CRA/CCRs
It's a bit poor that John Lewis staff don't know the returns rules, CCR replaced DSR over four years ago, they should all know by now.
As said previously the DSR ceased to exist in 2015. These have been replaced by the CRA/CCR which in fact has added more teeth to the regulations so ln many ways better for the consumer.Just an update and sorry mods for going off topic, I ordered a oneplus 6t online from JL and went to collect the other day and after collecting, I asked 3 members of staff (inc customer service desk) about distance selling regs and they all told me once I open the oneplus 6t box it’s classed as used and can’t be returned (unless faulty), I then asked the manager in the technology dept and was told the same.
So went to the refund desk to get a refund as that’s not what I wanted, the refund is done at the tech support desk and I asked the chap there about it and and he said we do indeed accept returns due to dsr! I questioned why no one else knew and I was given false info and he said staff have been told to give this answer.
He was a bit vague too, he said you can open box, hold the phone but cannot switch it on lol
Anyway, due their incompetence I got a refund and if I order again il order from elsewhere, and you wonder why JL have had a 99% loss this year :/

If you are looking to try out a phone then your only option is Apple. Wherever you buy a OnePlus phone from you cannot try it out - period.
Amazon UK have the 128gb in all colours for £449, better deal than the 6T imo
**** it. I think I'm sold. Don't want to lose my headphone jack, beyond the front FPS on the 6T there's not a huge amount that makes it a deal breaker. I'd prefer a smaller phone but no one's making them anymore. Hmn. 6 for me I think.Amazon UK have the 128gb in all colours for £449, better deal than the 6T imo
Real tempting, although gearbest have a good deal on at the moment but then there's the potential warranty issues.
Real torn at the moment between the two devices. Would really like the 6t but the no notification situation puts me off.
May even hold out for a 2nd hand 6 device

Ask yourself why you want it, and its only because its the latest model.
The 6 is a better phone in my view, a phone without a notification LED is just stupid.
Prefer the notch and finger print sensor on the 6t (I know it's not as good as the 6's).
Then there's price... granted specs are pretty much identical butl I would have liked there to be a bigger saving between the price of the 128gb models for both - £50 if from UK seller as far as I can see? Although I guess its still new tech!
Makes me wonder if price will move again come black friday?
Even the "better" Asian phones are either leaning towards losing the jack or just as big. They are still been made but just been sold in the asian markets for some reason, the UK is seen as a market where the highest prices models are sold, and the better value ones are limited to asian markets.
