**** The Official OnePlus 6T Thread ****

What's the deal with the screen protector on this phone? It comes supplied with one and everyone seems desperate to fit better ones etc etc.

But the phone has Gorilla Glass 6 - after 2.5 years the chassis of my HTC 10 is battered and bruised but the screen, which has never had a protector, is perfect.

Why is the 6t different? Why does everyone want a screen protector?

I totally agree, first phone with a GG6 display and people are clambering to fit a screen protector on it which no matter how good it is it's never as good as the actual screen. That being said, being the hypocrite I am I still have the factory fitted one on mine, but I'd say that's more down to the fact that it's a freebie more than anything - gift horse/mouth and all that.

TBF GG6 is only more shatter proof rather than scratch resistant.. I seem to always scratch my screens a little not to a point where it bothers me but it can be seen if you know where they are. For e.g. my pixel 2 is scratched.

I left the protector on until it is beat, once it's done I'll get rid of it and go naked.

I'll leave the factory one on there until it's noticeably marked up, then I'll go naked. I can understand if someone would want one if they were accident prone or have children that like to get hold of their phones.

It's great for free but hardly ideal, wears without too much effort, smudge prone etc. I look at it the same as the free case, a good option until you can find something better or if you don't mind either way.

If I scratch up the screen protector I can replace that whenever I want, if I scratch up the screen I have to live with it. If you don't care about small scratches then lucky you, you don't need to worry about a screen protector.

How slipery is the 6t. I've had to put a skin on my 5t as the aluminium back was like holding soap.
It's a funny one. It's a slippery bugger for sure (I have the Mirror Black). But when in the hand it can actually be quite grippy, with heat/moisture from the hand. But when it's lying on a surface that isn't 100% level you couldn't take your eye off it. Mine will not sit still on the sofa at all.
A case is definitely a requirement for 90% of the time IMO. I really like the touch of a free case, basic and all as it is. I'm currently waiting on my order of the official red silicone and Sandstone cases.

Finally got mine delivered yesterday after getting a cracking deal as part of Black Friday.

Coming from an S7, I've got to say I'm immensely impressed so far! Still learning my aroung the device. Do any of you bother with a oneplus account?
