I've read the Pro pricing will be similar to the P30 Pro and S10+. Hopefully pricing will be cheaper to sway people away from these models.

Only the two Pro models from what i have seen. The standard won't.

Is 12GB RAM worth it over 8.
Also is it definitely a curved screen on the Pro.

Indeed, one of the main selling points of the Pro will be the 90Hz display from what I can see. Although I do wonder how well it'll work for gaming, it'll be a higher resolution display + higher refresh rate on the same GPU (Adreno 640 GPU) which is only 20% faster than last generation.

No, 12GB of Ram is just marketing, anything over 8GB will be overkill.

So regular model just gets a single camera with a depth sensor? Guess everyone who wants the better camera experience will be going for the Pro version.

I did think it was a bit odd myself but then a 48MP sensor is quite a step up from 16MP+20MP setup of the 6T. Makes you wonder if they are going the Pixel route and using software for portrait mode instead of extra cameras to save cash / keep the price point down.

Frankly the camera has always been a weak point of the One Plus brand so at least the spec bump is nice to see. I do hope the software has made some progress or at least the port of the Google Camera to it will be quick.... lol

Anyone know what type of optical fp will be in the pro?

Not sure anyone does, I'd guess the same as the non-Pro. I do find the 6T's a bit slow and temperamental vs the older style capacitive sensors so it would be nice if there was a spec bump or software tweaks to make it faster and more accurate.

In many ways I'm glad they haven't gone the Ultrasonic route, not only are those slower again it also needlessly adds to the cost for very minor benefits. Especially as the technology is new on phones and hasn't had time to mature like the capacitive sensors.

Colour options?

Assuming this leak is accurate.. we won't see gradient colours: https://twitter.com/Samsung_News_/status/1120954757990973440

I'm hoping the blue is nice to be honest. I've always fancied a blue phone but they are often a bit lackluster in person. A blue that isn't too dark and pops nicely would be perfect.

It is called Nebula Blue according to the leaks. Those renders you posted are unlikely to be accurate as the most recent leaks are stating it'll be single colour rather than gradient style colours. There is also a quote I can't find the source for where the CEO stated "The gradient Colours look great at press conferences but they don't sell well."

UK pricing should be very similar then. Especially if you go off the current 6T base model going for either 549 or 559 Euro in almost all of the European countries and our price of £529.

It is actually cheaper than I expected, especially when you factor in the cost price of screen being more expensive than many of the competitors on the market.

Did John Lewis and Amazon have stock on launch day when the 6T came out? Always ordered direct from OP but each time has been a PITA with payment not being accepted.

I picked up OP5 on release day from o2 store - not sure who has got it this time around - hopefully still o2.

Still looks awfully pricey - £200 jump from 6T model potentially.
