**** The Official OnePlus 7/OnePlus 7 Pro Thread ****

I really like my 7T Pro but I doubt I'll get another OP Phone. They've just gone downhill recently and only care about the latest devices.

I too think it's great (to a point). But yeah they're making some weird decisions and an odd tangent from the 'flagship killer' strategy that made them popular to begin with.

I've never really understood the point of differentiating with a 'Pro' model and even worse now there are 3 versions of Nord. They should just stick to one high model and one affordable imo.

I washed my hands of OnePlus when my 7T Pro was exhibiting the flashing grey lines while charging straight out of the box. My own experience (and that of many others I discovered) was a merry-go-round of emails with the usual nonsense of perform a reset, make sure the latest updates are installed blah blah blah. They will literally do anything to worm their way out of a return.
I always found their phones excellent but CS poor to say the least. When I sold the 7T Pro (in October) I was apprehensive because Android 11 was just around the corner and I was intrigued what it would be like.
Seeing these issues I’m glad I sold it now.

It all started when they abandoned their slim and fast idea and started adding more bloat. Funny example is my face unlock on 8t is much slower and often doesn't work compared to my old 7t that I gave to my other half.

Oxygen 11 stable is out for the 7T series, nothing yet for the 7 series: https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/oxygenos-11-for-the-oneplus-7t-pro-and-oneplus-7t.1405106/

Oddly enough AOD is not included and still limited to beta builds.

I'm going to wait it out to see if there's any bugs present. OP's recent major OS updates have been rather buggy lately.

EDIT: Some people are reporting the camera app no longer works and crashes, even after clearing data and app cache.

I've got it installed with no issues. I did do a factory reset after installing just because I generally do when going to a new version of Android.

Won't be getting another OP I haven't had an update in ages. Also hate the curved screen, hate the fingerprint sensor.

I also hated the curve screen but got used to it in the end. Fingerprint is not the best, but acceptable to me

what are you looking at as an alternative?

Nothing yet, flat screen, 6" sort of size, decent fingerprint scanner ie not optical. Decent battery, WiFi 6 would be handy on my next phone as well.

I went for the 7t non to avoid the curved screen. The device is coming up to 2 years old and I still get 6hour screen on time and the phone hasn't missed a beat. Fingerprint scanner is decent enough.

I've had 3 OP phones this one is the slowest it's been for updates which Is unusual but the android 11 is a nice new addition now.

I'll upgrade to the 9 if the camera is very good, that's the only let down with this phone in my opinion.

Updated my 7T Pro earlier, bit glitchy at first but after some app updates and a restart it seems fine. Not loving the updated font and it annoys me that the default clock/weather widget still doesn't resize properly. The new weather app is dull too, the previous one at least looked different to every other manufacturer's.

Liking the quick access button for dark mode, I've wanted that for a while. Haven't noticed much else new or exciting though. I've also had issues for the past few months of the camera locking up in various apps (Instagram and WhatsApp mainly) so hopefully this sorts that out too.
