The official opteron 170 overclocking thread

Hi,

Thought I would start a thread about the opteron 170.
As I have seen a number of people saying that they are running this fantastic cpu

What stepping, clocks and voltages are you running.

At the moment I am running 2.6ghz at 1.475 dual prime stable on air

CCBWE 0534 SPMW

Would be interesting to know what other people were running.

I'm running Gskill 4000 HZ 1:1 @ 260mhz

My opteron 170 CCBWE 0534 SPMW running 2.6ghz @1.475 v

Same here I'm to scared to take off the IHS! :eek:

yeah the gskill HZ is good fast ram at a great price

anyone know what they max out at on stock timings?

yes try lowering the vcore.
1.6 is a bit high imo

It didnt need 1.6v to be stable did it?

Very impressed with the chip I am sure 2.8 is more than achievable with some tweaking.

Hesky82 have you primed yet for any length of time?

I have an opteron with the same setting as you and was amazed I was straight in at 2.6 on stock vcore!

Short PI test is no good IMO are you prime stable?

I just got hold of a 170 CCBWE 0550 UPMW and I was straight in at 2.6ghz on stock vcore of 1.3v

prime stable

Still on stock vcore at 2.7ghz 9hrs prime stable and still running

using small FFT to really heat that cpu you up.TBH my temps are fine with the stock vcore.

quick update I tried 2.8 stock vcore and core 1 failed after 3 mins.So I small bump is needed for 2.8 which is my goal.

FX 62 speeds.Fingers crossed my ram will do 280 mhz
