The official Philips BDM4065UC thread

On my BDM4065UC, periodically the screen goes blank and flashes for a few moments, before eventually settling back into the desktop. Running over DisplayPort at 4k resolution. Anyone know of a fix for this?

As far as i know there is no fix for this m8, does it only do it when first powering on or if waking it from sleep?

It always does it when powering on shortly after arriving at the desktop, but more concerningly it sometimes does it long after its powered up and during normal everyday desktop use.

Mine always did it after waking from sleep sometimes straight away sometimes after a short while but never just randomly.

I went through 3 back in january due to bits in the screen and they all did it.

Hm ok ill keep an eye on it, I usually expect it to happen right after login but maybe its also happening after waking too.

Can anyone post their calibration settings for this? I found the default to cause Fallout 4 to appear very washed out, I ended up changing Nvidea driver settings such as Digital Vibrance but suspect I just need some decent settings for the Phillips.

I've now been dealing with faulty monitors with Philips since October. It takes forever for them to acknowledge a fault and send out a replacement (10 days +) - and the failure rate on replacements seem to be very high. I love the monitor but the QC is just god awful. I'm getting pretty impatient at this stage.

Unless it's sufficiently worse in Ireland, that's not true at all. Was easy as pie dealing with Phillips here on the mainland. It's the panels themselves that have problems - not the RMA procedures.

I wonder if someone can advise if my BDM4065UC is faulty? Mainly when it comes out of standby, the desktop appears and soon after the screen cycles between the desktop and black screen for about 5 seconds or so. It always does this upon resume from standby, but I have noticed it doing it also on occasion 10-15 minutes after boot and during normal usage. I logged a call with Philips, who just advised to check drivers etc, but I could replace the screen but its pointless if this is another monitor trait.

I was having the exact same experience with mine too. I sent mine back (to another shop) for a refund. I now have a BenQ 32" 4K connected via the same display port as the Phillips was and this does not exhibit the same behaviour, so I'm inclined to think it was the monitor at fault.

3840x1648 is the resolution to use.

Also the monitor's "Picture Format" should be set to 1:1 and Witcher 3 set to "borderless window" mode.

I've setup a couple of shortcuts on my desktop that will switch resolutions without any prompts.

Hi - I've just bought one of these monitors and have found the joystick at the back a real pain. How do you set up these shortcuts, is it possible to drive the menu settings without having to use the joystick on the back - many thanks.

I had this exact issue with my previous unit, it got progressively worse until it was totally unusable. I returned it back to OcUK who sorted out a replacement in less than a week.

If its doing it in normal usage - its dying...

I've had three of these and a friend has another and they've all done that after resuming from standby so that at least appears to be a monitor trait. I've also had it happen during normal usage but only with one monitor so that may be a fault.
