Don’t think so? How would that work ? It’s designed to be played with the dual sense.
It's coming out on pc and I know you can play some games on ps5 using mouse and keyboard that I prefer. Just need to wait for the pc release then thanks

Still absolutely zero indication a "PS5 Pro" is likely or required. If you want a console, buy a console when you're ready to buy one - don't sit around waiting for what might appear.
Everything points towards all PS5's from later this year being identical - with the "Disc Version" shipping with the detachable drive missing from the "Digital Version". There is however no indication on how slim that device will be.

Yes i get that, but i was hoping for style change as its bloody ugly :)

I felt the same. Still do in a way, the Series x is far more stylish. But then the PS5 is like the boy racer of consoles, owing to its Japanese influences where garish and bold design are favoured. It’s like a Civic Type R mated with a Blu-ray player! :p

I reduced the fugly factor by fitting official replacement side plates in black, and stuffing the console on its side in my TV stand. It’s less offensive but only because it’s harder to see! :D

I’m at peace with the fugly now, as I expect parents grow to know peace when they have fugly kids. Embrace the fugly, and who knows, you may learn to love it!

Remember, it’s what is inside that counts. :p

So to match the Sony TV ps5 or wait till ps5 pro ?

Not really in the console scene you see ?
No indication of a Pro. Market is much different from 2016/17 as the PS4 and XB1 where underpowered from launch and the transition to 4K was starting to be a thing so the mid-gen refreshes were needed to be viable as 4K capable machines.

Exactly this.

Unless we see a sudden explosion/demand/sales in 8k TV's, then I doubt we'll see a Pro.

Stock availability of the PS5 is only what I would say is approaching some form of normality, 2 years after initial launch.

Also, we haven't really seen many true next gen console games due to developers designing games with the PS4 as the base platform, which is understandable given the large userbase and the fact that people are still holding on to them due to high cost/availability of the PS5.

Yeah, completely agree on the last point about true next gen games.

I don't think we'll see a mid-generation 'pro' update to the PS5 at all, the current PS5 is actually pretty powerful and considering that we're able to now get 60fps options in almost all games (and 120fps options in others) I don't necessarily see why Sony would do it (other than $$$).

I think the only update we will end up getting is a smaller, slimmer console eventually - but for sure not this year surely?

Isn't the AMD CPU inside the PS5 manufactured on the TSMC 6nm process?

I'd suspect once there is a die shrink that offers better efficiency, power saving and can be cooled with a more compact heatsink/cooling solution, then we'll see a a slightly more compact PS5 slim.

The PS5 we got our daughter at Christmas really does kick out a fair amount of heat, so I can see why the PS5 is the size/design it is. I can't see how they can take all those existing components and stick it in a smaller chassis, without a decent die shrink.

I'm sure Sony would love to release a PS5 Slim without an optical drive. No doubt the end goal is to banish the optical drive and ensure purchases are made via their store only. Maybe that's the target for the PS6 and Sony will allow you to purchase a hideously overpriced, propriety external optical drive for the PS5 Slim.

I think the die shrink is when they normally bring out the reduced profile (ironically in pcs its normally accompanied by an increase in performance, possibly like the Pro version).

Finished Last of Us 2 last night, what a game thank god we have Naughty Dog making games like this. Love a great story driven game.
I thought the game had finish at one point then there was more, didn't expect that ending either, thought she might go and help finally make a cure.

I think it would need to do 4K 'properly' before even thinking about 8K.

The entire APU is now on 6nm but this only reduced power usage by 10%, still far too high for a slim. Needs to come down to 4nm or 5nm to even think about a slim - that's why there is now rumours of new looking PS5 with a portable bluray drive, they have to remove the bluray drive to make it smaller as they can't reduce the cooling system due to the high power usage

Just bought Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTOR’S CUT on the store.
I go to download it and it just installed the standard Ghost of Tsushima?
What gives?
