What cooling is that on mate?

Just ordered a Q6600 B3 myself so should be playing with it on Thursday.

:)

Easy slobbers at the mouth.

Brave man with B3 and also I cannot see a better more genuine guy to give screenie analysis ;)

MY 6400 did 3.8ghz 24/7 on water.

The 6850's have been reaching 4ghz on water.

the 6850's hold no interest for me.

Give me 2 extra cores over 200 more mhz any day. :D

that and the 8mb cache :D

using a Kandalf LCS

1.51v in cpu-z

will get some prime shots up over the weekend, passes everything without a hitch :)

boots at 3.9+ Ghz but i cba trying and testing for the right volts yet lol
will update in a few days :)

p5k-e does almost 500mhz fsb, 497 to be exact lol

temps??.... who cares :D

Nice clock will it be a 24/7 speed though?

what are your load temps anyway?

Currently priming @3.4GHz with a 1.5v in the bios, I think you get a lot more vcore drop with these quads!

Christ these things do run hot, even under water. My temps on full load seem to be about 67c

I take it this is normal though from what I can gather?

My QX6700 ran 70c full load at 3.6ghz

I'm trying to source a G0 though and will hopefully be told tomo if the chip I want is in the batch.

Thought you was not bothered about the G0 stepping? :D

TBH I'm not but 105w against 95w might make a difference.

3.6ghz is my aim.

24/7

Plus some big batches have hit the UK.

Cannot clarify stepping though

Of course if you can get 3.6ghz stable under 70c full load then either way is good,

*slightly off topic*
Is it possible that G0 stepping could be worse at overclocking? It was only a theory and I can't remember where I read it? But it went along the lines of intel deliberately making the new G0 stepping harder to overclock and also something about the silicon being of a lesser quality... It is probably just bs but would like to know if there is any truth in it...

over on XS G0's have been hitting 3.9ghz on water :p

If I can get to 3.2ghz on a thermalright120 extreme with respectable load temps (around 65c would be great) then i'll be a happy bunny :P

3.2ghz would be easy on good air I would have thought.

Ideally though these chips need water for 3.6ghz + speeds.

Heh, depends how extreme you wanna go. I'll be happy with 3.0 and exstatic with 3.2 :)

If it all goes horribly wrong I can always swap the CPU's into my P965_DS3 in my tower.

yeah mate.

good luck looking forward to your findings
