Yes I think I may need to find a pair, or maybe a microscope lol! :p

Right oh, back where I started. Third board, after two faulty Asus. This ones on a IP35 Pro (volt modded) with air. Less vcore than the others as well. So the ubiquitous prime money shot. I haven't tried any higher, just want a baseline for now.

Wow thats some bad luck u had there? what was the fault?

Anyhow nice clocks, nice temps, is there any more in it or are u nearing max?
The first was a Blitz with booting problems, confirmed faulty. The seconds was a P5K Premium that had Sata timeout issues, quite a few with this problem now.

I went straight in at 450x8, haven't seen a prime fail yet with this board. Loads left in it, I just wanted to make sure the board was all ok first. Rooms quite cool at the moment, 18C. Add a few degrees for normal daytime ambient, it was hovering around 55C midday.

Jeeps! at least u were able to diagnose the issues quickly, that could have ruined a first time builders day!

Not the best of starts but at least you touched down now, hopefully the rest is smooth sailing.

P.S: just about to lap a few Ultra-120 X's :D

Dunno whats with Asus lately, 3 mobos in 2 weeks DOA and my Video card on RMA has been with em for 2 months now, only an X800XT but i'd have thought they'd be better with times, maybe they'll give me an X1950 pro AGP for my troubles lol.

Yeah, its running on a lapped Ultra Extreme in push/pull 2 x S-Flex. Love those fans, so quiet.

Surprised me, their quality used to be excellent. The Sata sockets they're using are pretty bad, I'm sure a few P5K Deluxe owners will testify. As for the Premium, several I've seen are having the timeout controller issues.

Never had a problem with an ASUS board before, used them for the past 3 years with no issues. However I have been trying to get a few replacement NF4 chipset fans from them and its taking ages, roughly one month between emails?

I'm not sure why they don't have a U.K based Support/RMA service?

Dear valued customer,
Apologize for all the inconvenience.
My name is Helen (Maggie's former teammate) for Maggie has transfered to other department, I am taking over her work.
As to your problem you faced, though I donot know the reason of delay, I would like to APOLOGIZE to you and I will push our UK colleagues to deal with your case.

Apologize again for all the inconvenience..

Best regards!
Sincerely Helen.

Everyone is banging on about that FAN, thats the one Anandtech always use right? How much do they cost each for a 120mm?

Using Swiftech watercooling with cpu only in loop.
1 x YL 120mm fan in side of case blowing over chipset and video card.

Re. the temps.....there have been numerous debates on whether the current toolset is accurately reading the temps. from G0 processors, so i can only show you what the toolsets show.

I'm happy with this cpu and its performance anyhow.

Nice,

My quad G0 comes on thursday and will be chuffed with quad 3.8ghz.

I have the same cooling setup as you.Just Cpu in the loop.

Fingers crossed

Good luck :)
I think your Ultra kit is better than my kit too.

Just bought a G0 Stepping, I will be putting a Gigabyte P35 DS3R board and 4GB OCZ Dual Channel 6400 ram in. I have a Zalman 9700NT Cooler with a 120mm fan. Do you think it is possible to run this cpu at 333fsb therefore equalling the specs of the 3ghz QX6800 on completely stock voltage. I don't like the idea of putting more volts through a brand new cpu. Also, can simply overclocking the fsb damage the processor? Thanks
