That prime all night does it?:D

Cause its not really a lot to go on TBH:p

I'm not sticking my 8GB RAM on 2.25v for 6+ hours of prime, it's too risky. But i have some cheap OZC RAM and i'll prime it using that over night.

I honestly think i could get 4GHz stable if i had some quality fast RAM.

A system should be built to use, either it's stable and usable 24/7 or it's not.

If it's too risky, then stop overclocking and go back to stock.

I take it that it is not stable at all and is thus rather unusable.

Im thinking that i have got a bad clocking chip, needs 1.5v in bios to be stable at 3.4 :(. What is the maximum voltage i should be looking at?, bearing in mind that it only just hits 60C under water at this point.
When people quote voltages, are these in bios or cpuz? because at idle my vcore droops by 0.05v and anything up to 0.125v under load, is this normal?

Alex

What batch is that one ?

No it's not unstable, i've got it stable at 3.8 now on 1.5v and the CPU is at 41c idle, 53c load (on watercooling with AS5). Only thing else i've done is increase the NB chipset to 1.5v. It was easy getting 3.8

My RAM is already on the lowest ratio, but at 3.9GHz the lowest i can run the RAM at is something around 860MHz and i cant boot into windows unless i give it 2.25v, which i dont like doing.
It's definitely the RAM holding me back, i just need some that can do 900MHz or so.

Got the 3 cpu's this morning, I've fitted two for my mates, and they both clock to 3.6, 1.44 in bios real 1.41. The water cooled one after 6 hrs prime never went over 57 on all four cores. The air cooled was no higher than 63, but the cpu temp reported 67, can this be right?

I might get mine fitted later tonight, and it's the same batch.

Your volts look very low  1.150 v, I thought default was 1.280v?

I think he has set Vcore to auto. If i set my Vcore to auto, on anything 400MHz above, it runs on 1.150v on idle and 1.368-1.376 upon load. But if i set a lower FSB, idle is set at 1.368v and runs lower volts on idle, like 1.328-1.336v...?

Forgive me

Have you posted a stabilty shot at 3.8ghz?

I had it looping 3D mark 06 over night, done rendering work and played Bioshock all at 3.8GHz. To me it's stable, because it does everything i want with no problems. But i'll prime it over night just to shut you lot up
