DS3P only goes up to F5 and that's more or less an identical bios to the DS3. It's a G0 stepping L726B. People on here reckon it's more to do with the 965P chipset. :(

Well my Q6600 is still running at 3.61ghz according to the Bios

My temps on Water Cooling are 40c idle 64c Max load.

Voltage is set to auto in Bios and sits around 1.40v to 1.43v

Mine is also a L726B and isn't the best batch out there though your problem is probably your mobo.

What vid does yours show in core temp ?

Argh, just thinking, am I to have any potential issues running it with the Asus P5N-E SLI board? It clocks my E4300 fine, but will it actually work with the Q6600? If so what's it like at clocking it?

Someone help please!

just priming here been at it for about 6 hours now.

35c idle and 59c max load...

dont know what water cooling you guys have but im only useing a xflex 120mm fan and thermal extreme 120 :P

i would say thats pritty sweet temps for quad core clocking. and at 1.43v

whats more amazing is the fact im running my 4 sticks of sli ready pc8500 at stock aswell 5.5.5.10 ;)

Mine is 1.275v too. Has a low FSB wall of 444 also.

I got a glimmer of hope from your results in the quad core database. 3.744ghz with the same batch as mine. :D At least that definately points the problem at my mobo then. Just trying to decide on a Asus P5K of some kind or a P5E X38 now.

****Edit**** Just ordered an Asus P5E X38 (not from here though) for it. First time i have gone for an Asus board but the price was too good to miss. I just hope i don't have any problems with it as Asus support used to be abysmal and their website is soooooooooooo Slooooooooooow. It will be here tomorrow so i will let you know how i get on after the weekend.

Oops, guess I should have posted here...

How would I achieve 3.2Ghz on a IP35-Pro motherboard? q6600, not sure if its' the G0, it certainly doesn't say it under CPU-Z anyway. I have 4Gb RAM installed so I'm looking to achieve about 3.0-3.2Ghz safely. Cooling wise, I have a Tuniq Tower blowing down on it, as well as about a billion case fans (Antec 900). I realise I could reach this with something like 8x380, but I'm wondering if the voltage would need to be changed? Also, worth thinking about going into 9x?

Get the latest version of CPU-Z (1.41) and it will show you if it is G0.

If it is a G0 I really dont think it would need any change in voltage for 8x380 and possibly not for a B3.

Is it worth mentioning that I have 4x1Gb RAM modules? Apparently 4Gb isn't OC friendly? I just want to restore the original overclocked settings :).

What clocks are you guys with water cooling getting on the low power Q6600?

1.4v

Used BFG 680I 1st Rev, On this cpu and couldnt get anywhere near these speeds, 2.8 was the max becuse of poor fsb on that board.

just got a new board this time EVGA 680I Rev A2
and what a diffrence. ;) im in the 3.6ghz Club ;)

Thermalright Ultra Extreme 120 with 120mm Xflex fan

Very nice overclock well worth the effort.:)

Wayheey. My P5E X38 arrived earlier. :D:D:D

Just got to try to get this humungous NB/SB heatpipe thingy off now. I reckon they used bloody superglue on it. At least it's not in one piece all the way up to the top of the board so i can leave the ones that cool the mosfets all around the cpu socket on. The NB is going under water and the SB has a lapped Zalman heatsink for it. It's a nice looking board actually. Will let you know how i get on on Monday.
