** The Official Resident Evil Games Thread **

Ive installed the 4K mod but im not getting the option to set res to 3840x2160p

I had same issue. You need to go into app data folder and find the .ini or whatever file it is and edit that to 3840×2160p.

After doing it. Dont go into display setting page in game as it will change it back.

At least that is my understanding anyway.

I do wish devs would do quality of life updates on games more often. How hard would it be for CAPCOM to sort that out or even add DLSS, DLAA etc for we are not stuck with FXAA.

I might try using super sampling or something when I play it soon.

Yes tha worked a treat thank you. I also have to disable GSYNC in Nvidia app otherwise game wont launch. But look great and plays at 60fps too. Just need a few cheats too make the game easier now haha. :D

The game was designed at 1080p, even changing the resolution in the .ini file only changes the window size, the game is still internally running at the lower res, the 4k textures help a lot though, they look good.

Guess what just launched on Steam!

I should have posted that. I picked them up a couple of days ago. Should have just got it from GOG tbh. But the damn pull of having all my games in one place on steam :(

I much prefer GOG policy. Can download game files and they are yours. But oh well. Maybe one day steam will provide such a feature. That day i will buy a huge drive and download all my games.

Started another playthrough of my favourite RE game today - RE2 on my original PS1 I had all those years ago.

And for the first time ever, I encountered what I can only assume is a bug. I started playing as Claire and after about 45 minutes I realised that there is no music or ambient sound at all. Only footsteps, gunshots, zombies moaning etc.

I checked the options and saw nothing there to indicate why this would happen. Searching online yielded no results.

Anyway, I restarted the game from the beginning and now I have music. Very odd!

Love the game though, it will never age for me. Just perfect.

Yep. The game never ages. Excellent replay value.

Thos DC games, makes me laugh rather than be in fear playing them because the dinos look so blocky, T-rex needs to be called Blockysaurus hehe.

They were on the silly side, but outside of perhaps Parasite Eve (which leaned more into the RPG side of the formula), they're the best of the PS1 era Resident Evil clones.

I wouldn't say Silent Hill as thematically it's extremely different imo.

Speaking of Parasite Eve, what I wouldn't give for those games to get the RE-R treatment!

What I wouldn't give to make the first game even remotely affordable to buy on the used market lol.

All I remember from Parasite Eve is an elevator where you kept going up to different levels and it seemed to go on forever. Might be a dodgy memory, but i never got to complete the game as I recall. Was like 25+ years ago.

That said, it was around that time or maybe before I played FF7 and I remember a lot about that game. So many memories with that game. Where I was the day I got it. Where I was the day I completed it etc.
