I have the Samsung Protective case but no screen protector, didn't on my Note 8 either.
This case looks great in the flesh and feels good too!

What the point in having a case to protect the back and nothing to protect the front when it costs far less to replace the back cover then what it costs for a new screen

I have the exactly same case and love it. Last week I was using my note 9 as a sat nav as I always did with my s8 plus and placed it in corner on dashboard.
Last week it was humid I opened window I never done that before but as I went round a roundabout the phone slided from my end of the dashboard to the other side and out the window. Luckily no damage to the phone just some scuffs to the case.
Case also makes it comfortable to hold and I like the stand

It's the corners that usually take the brunt of it, a screen protector is ok for mild scrapes but a drop face on is not going to save the screen, I've seen the damage first hand from a top tempered glass protector on my mates S7 edge, he thought the thing was bullet proof with that on but it didn't save the screen.

Hmm, maybe if I was that reckless with my device I would think more about a case. :o

So today I have a day off work, go downstairs to make Mrs a drink, hear a bang on the floor from upstairs so when I take her drink she says "um your work alarm went off so I reached over and knocked it off the table"
Luckily only a 2 foot drop but on hard wood and I suspect that will be the first of many over its lifespan!
I'm pretty careful with my phones but that's how easy it is, not sure it would have been ok with no case!

I'm considering one of these now with the price drops, i've seen a Coral Blue one sell for £650 brand new on AVForums, one went on Ebay for £610 brand new with a Carphone Warehouse receipt, that seller had over 500+ feedback, i dithered and missed out.

I think you could comfortably pick one up for £650, comparing against the Carphone Warehouse trade in lets say you sold your Note 8 for £400 privately which you should be able to do, that would cost you £250. I have a Note 5 which i think i should be able to get £200 for as it's mint, with a bit of patience a Note 9 could cost you £450, that would be a no brainer really, i was considering a Note 8 but at those prices the Note 9 appeals.

I went for the Note9 direct with Samsung as I got £200 for my S7, yes I could have probably got more going private but that would be a massive hassle, too many non-paying buyers and cheaters on eBay etc.

Samsung also offer the annual trade-up service like Apple, so you can get the newest model next year but you don't have to take it, the reason I did it was so they took the cost of the phone minus the trade-in of my S7 and gave me 2 years interest free after a 10% deposit. So I'm paying £26 a month for the phone itself and have my own SIM with 3 which I managed to get good deal on by staying with them as my 2 years were up.

After a couple of weeks usage battery seems to have settled to an average of just over 2 days between charges.
Currently 2 days 5 hours with 10% left & 5 hours 50 ost.

I've got an iphone 7 on a rather poor contract with vodafone which I'm seriously considering ditching, buying a note 9 sim free and then fishing for the best data deals. Any advice on this? CPW quotes a £200 trade in with extra £200 but then at check out it mentions nothing about the trade in lol. Really confusing!

Best to go instore & do the trade in.
I did it online & I'm still waiting for my additional £200. (got £350 for my note 8 rather than the £375 otriginally offered)[/QUOTE]

As for data, Three are offering a 100GB deal for £20pm with unlimited text/mins

I take it you don't own the phone technically? As if you do, they are going for ~£300 in MM so likely more elsewhere.
