The official Sin episodes thread

Found this ok so far, but I seem to be completely stuck. I'm in a section with this green gas that is coming out of a pipe. If you walk through it your actions are slowed down and eventually you lose health. I can't seem to find any way out of this area.

I'm sure I'm doing something very stupid, but I can't see how to progress. Any help would be appreciated.

The water didn't seem deep enough, but I'll have another look. If it helps, there's a dead creature of some sort floating in the water.

The green stuff effectively slows down time (bullet time sort of) but if you take in too much its starts to kill you, stand in it till the meter is full then start moving and enjoy the rush :P

I completed HL2 Ep 1 so I thought I'd DL this too (a casino night out was cancelled so I had a few quid to spare). Seems quite consoley and old school but fun so far.

Dunno if this is exactly scientific but Jessica is hotter than Alyx..

So there :p

Finished it this morning after it crashed last night and arsed about when I tried to run it again

*minor spoiler*

Ending could have been fractionally better (some sort of radio chatter or something instead of fade out) and they could have let you grab a SiNTEK Heavy Gunners weapon for the last little push - that would have been sweet :D

Gamewise there just wasn't enough chatter between JC & Blade - in the original they were always being idiots about the whole thing and generally having a laugh! Otherwise not bad at all :)

I'm happy with the game and can't wait for the next chapter :>

I had to change my config some 2nd mouse was the 'zoomed in' more accurate shooting mode, and then had to move secondary fire to the keyboard. It didn't feel right at all.

help !!!!!!

ive got to the bit where you get in the lift go to 24 floor,go upstairs then outside onto the window ledge jumped the first gap then the smaller one then you get to a big gap with no room to run and jump

how the hell do you get across ?

Hmm its been getting absolutely slated this. :(
What game doesn't. It seems to me that most good games get the most slating. People should just STFU and accept games for what they are.

You're right - HL2 and Oblivion took a real pounding at the hands of reviewers.. oh wait...

Well i just bought it. I knew i'd be getting it eventually so i thought i may as well get it now and let it start downloading :D

Shame it's only going at 25kb/s :(

I didn't mean reviewers. It's the 'fans' who are the problem. Not sure about HL2 but Oblivion got a huge amount of moaning. Every other thread in the official forums were about how much "it sucked". I just think it's sad that people feel the need to go on forums specific to the game, just to complain about it.

Sorry for resurrecting this old thread.

Been looking at the retail version of SiN Episode 1: Emergence. Planning to get it when the price has dropped to around £10, but I don't have or want a Steam account.

Do you need Steam to play the original SiN bundled with it? Is retail Emergence playable without steam?

I think you can play it in offline mode but not without steam running at all. To be honest i would advise against getting it, its average at best and the sequels have been canned so there's no chance of improvement.

Yeah agree it is very average and a struggle to complete as it is so dull/lifeless.

They tried hard but it just does not offer anything you cannot get better for the same money. Source engine also looks terrible as they made some bad colour choices. Feels & plays more like a fan made mod than a commercial release which is why they have cancelled the other planned episodes for now.

Prey is far superior to this and cheaper!
