*****The Official SSX Thread*****

Played the demo for quite awhile last night. I am pleasantly surprised at just how good it is. As has been mentioned already, they have managed to capture the look and feel of SSX and SSX Tricky, and there are loads of cool new features that are headed our way in the full release.

Loved it last night when I pulled a massive air jump and tricked off of the helicopter. What an awesome touch!

I'll definitely be getting this on launch. The only thing I don't like, is how you're tied down to pre-ordering from a certain retail chain if you want to be able to have access to the extra map. Really hating the whole way that pre-orders go these days.

Which extra map? I can't see that listed as a pre order bonus from the usual places I buy from.
 
It's not an extra map, it's an extra drop from one of the mountains, you have to order from Games/Gamestation I believe.


Regarding difficulty they've released a tips video for each run in their youtube account, watched those this morning so I'll give it another go. Key seems to be combo linking with flatland tricks fro trick it and shallower jumps for race it.

Yeah soz I meant the extra character and drops on Mount Fuji. Not having them doesn't bother me, but really, it shouldn't be tied to a single retailer, it should just be available to everyone that pre-orders. These pre-order bonuses really are getting stupid now...

I agree about the pre-order bonuses, it's irritating. I know which one you're on about now, not too fussed about the character or drops - this stuff generally doesn't make much difference but it would be nice to have.

Not changing my pre-order though, would rather save a few quid.

I'm going to avoid any pre order delivery fails by doing that overlooked and forgotten task of *shock horror* walking into a shop and picking it up off a shelf! :D

Still not on PSN? :(. Looks like the US got it yesterday.
 
I could get it on 360... but having played all previous games on Playstation, and planning to buy this one on PS3, it feels wrong to play it on anything else, lol.
