*** The Official Steam Deck Thread ***

Yeah, this really is a game changer, especially when you have kids; no more wasting time having to save & quit then reload later, or having to leave it on for an unknown length of time while you sort them out :)
Bingo. Or just called away to do "stuff", it really is freeing and it makes so much more time available.

So you're saying I should wait for whatever next they put out? Are there any other handhelds that are universally loved like the Deck?
Depends on what you want to play and target fps. There are a lot better performance handhelds now but for a price. The steam deck still does a good job with realistic expectations. Perfect for indie style. If you are streaming at home while sitting on the couch then all good. The trackpad is still a great feature that I can’t think any others have?

I’m not saying don’t buy it, all I’m saying is don’t be surprised if a new one lands at some point in the near future. Forewarned is forearmed is all that.

It’s like buying an iPhone in July/August, the old one is perfectly fine but the new one is just around the block.

lots but they are all vastly more expensive. That’s why I also say any replacement steam deck will likely follow the same trend.

Yeah that makes sense, I think as I'll be playing it almost exclusively at home unless I go away and using the streaming feature from my PC there's no real need for me to get a high spec version.
