*** The Official Steam Deck Thread ***

How long does it take to receive the Deck? It says 3-5 business days in the store, but does it generally take as much as a week to arrive?
I ordered an OLED 1TB and ended up cancelling the order when it hadn’t been shipped after 6 days. So yeah sometimes I’d say they do take longer. My original LCD Steam Deck arrived in 6 days from order to doorstep.

As already said, depends on the system being emulated. Xbox 360 though, I've had 2 hour session of Skate 3 and Hydro Thunder and battery has still been at 50-60%

These run really well on Steam Deck, refresh rate/fps locked at 30fps/hz. Hydro thunder might be 60fps/hz come to think of it.

i loved hydrothunder....... i have it on my xbox 360 with all dlc but i cant be bothered firing up said xbox 360.

I have no use for one of these really but couldn't pass up a cheap "faulty" one. A quick spritz of contact cleaner and it's as good as new. I love tweaking and optimising TDPs and settings. With a decent 50-50-40mv undervolt too, I'm getting great battery life. Maybe I'll actually play through something on it.

Dual boot setup and working on the OLED deck. There have been a few improvements to the dual boot side of things since i last did an LCD model, so worth checking a few of the latest guides before you go for it.

Tried Cygni from the free epic giveaway, had to use a launch argument to get it past the splash screen. Its an ok game, not played much as ive had a few random crashes, looks great when it runs!

Just managed to smash the screen on my SD  The glass is fine but the underlying LCD matrix clearly didn’t like the bang and seems to shattered from the impact point. Really pretty peed off as I’ve had the thing for nearly two years and it’s immaculate despite being used almost every day.
Anyways, 1Tb OLED ordered as replacement while I work out what to do with the broken one.

depending on how handy you are with DIYing it:

It's involved for sure but doable, or wipe it and flog on eBay to cut your losses.
I'm sure the OLED will help with the pain :D

A testament to the device. I know the day mine breaks I'll put an order in for another.
Sorry for your loss :(

Thanks all! I saw the DIY screen replacement but thought it looked a bit too fiddly. Now that the new one is on the way I’ve no doubt I’ll buy a screen replacement in the future when I’m bored.

It is a testament to how great an SD is that I bought another one. I’m bereft of my quick gaming fixes!

It really is a great bit of kit

Thinking of getting the Oled version. Not the 1tb though.

Not gamed for approx 8 years or so as i not had a pc or console since then.

I do have a steam account from back then which i can still access.

Thing is, i was always a keyboard and mouse gamer. Tried Playstation controller some time ago on a friends and struggled aiming when shooting..lol

I used to play JC3 and GTAV. Miss those games. How are they on the deck? I like driving games too.

I am a complete noob when it comes to the SD. I have checked out youtube looking at reviews of them.

Any advice appreciated...
