Result!

I may have to look into whether it was software version thing for me as the deck has updated numerous times since I first tried it on the dell
Are you still loving the deck? I am it's been a game changer for me. My girlfriend just bought me a Western digital Black 2TB sn770m for my birthday, so I'll have to clone my existing 1TB drive and swap it out. Looking at some of the videos it don't seem to bad an ordeal.

Completely so!

Most likely one of my top purchases in recent times tbh. I have done so much more pc gaming since it arrived.

With the 512gb internal and 512gb Micro-SD I can't see much real point in getting the 1tb upgrade at present (doesn't mean I won't though lol). I have about 60-70 games installed with 150gb+ space to spare (granted a lot are indie and smaller titles I now have the time to go back and play) but that helps with the battery usage side too :)

Just had it confirmed I am off to LA for a week in March so this will be coming with me along with the battery pack which works an absolute treat fast charging the SD

I was so confused why Powerwash Simulator was locking up my Deck when trying to sleep after playing it, or failing to launch, and turns out it was cloud sync errors. Heading over to the Steam site to check cloud save sizes Powerwash was using nearly 500mb! I guess the size of it was causing Steam issues of getting it to sync. Went into the game options to clear all the time lapse data which dropped the save size to a tiny few hundreds of kilobytes, and that fixed the cloud sync errors, and no longer stalls my Deck.

I think a smaller SSD is actually better in so far as you can concentrate on a few choice games. I got the top end ones purely for the matte screen. I'm sure there will be stick-on stuff available that does the same thing, but the matte screens on both LCD and OLED are really good. I don't want to see my ugly face gurning in the reflection from a black loading screen.

This list is mainly games that will not drain the battery excessively (I'd also recommend a 45W-rated power bank):

Hades/Hades 2
Into the Breach
Factorio
Dredge
Vampire Survivors
Tunic
Brotato
Dead Cells

How does Factorio work with a controller? I can't imagine it being particularly... "fun"

I've been playing Jurassic World Evolution 2 on mine after picking it up the recent Humble bundle - it's nowhere near as controllable as on my PC, but definitely playable :)

Received my 64GB refurb. Sounds silly, but genuinely cannot tell it's not new. Zero blemishes / streaks etc, everything sealed perfectly etc. Having fun setting up, fully expecting to lose it to my son & Wobbly Life soon......

Felt odd receiving it, turning it on only to check works, then taking it to bits to upgrade to 1TB HDD...... Very easy though and re-install was super fast.

grand job, those refurbs were a bargain :)

I bought a 64gb refurb August last year. Still going strong today and use it almost daily.

Wouldn't of known it was a refurb had it not said beforehand.

still amazed by how well Wreckfest runs at the highest settings. I am onto the last part of the career now after ploughing though it pretty much every night in bed on the deck before I go to sleep :)

I am getting so much gaming done and starting to make the smallest dent in my pile of shame lol

I've just discovered streaming from my pc works rather well too. Silent hill 2 running on my pc which has a 4090 FE and a 7800X3D max setting and res at 2160p looks and plays great on steamdeck. Not sure though if I'm doing it right? Do I ha e to drop the red in settings on my SD? It's getting a constant 60fps.

Arkham City is so good on the Deck. Solid 60fps on high settings. Holds up quite well visually compared to some modern games (on their lowest settings & with FSR & still struggling to hit a 30fps lock).

Interesting that I don't remember any of the game despite completing it on Xbox when it first came out. None of it is even remotely familiar

I'm just going to leave this here:
