Not to worry, I've taken some premature pictures (while I nipped home on lunch) of the box, and I'm reading the manual in work.

Hopefully a mate can come to Ikea with me tonight, and help me load the desk in :D

spoke to a nice lady at apple today about my mbp order - she seemed to be making out that all mbp's come from shanghai.

also, apecode is refusing to give me any info. it was shipped on friday apparently but it just comes up blank. lame - i've been checking my order status everyday since i ordered - yes even over easter weekend when clearly nothing is gonna happen :/

(first mac btw, jesus i can't wait.)

Sorry for the mega delay.. took the wrong exit off the motorway and had to go the long way to Ikea :mad:

Anyway, got home at 8, built the desk and just installed my RAM :)

Here's a quick screenie of the specs; will post pictures when my mouse arrives today! (early ship)

Sorry for the thread bump but I bought a base spec MBP from the store with the new penryn processor but bumped up the spec of the hdd to a 250gb and a glossy screen. Now it said it has shipped but none of the websites are working that EVH kindly listed and the online tracking off apple is hopeless. It says that item is in transit to final destination, what does that mean? (sorry mac noob)

Any word on when I should hear something?

same happened to me, it takes about a week from once it's said it's shipped to reach england (it comes from shanghai). once it gets to england it's pretty quick - mine arrived in england late on a friday and i had it before half 8 on monday morning.

Cheers for the reply, did TNT handle the package when it arrived?
 
yup, once tnt have it in their hands you get a consignment number on the apple order tracking page. you can use that to track your shipment as it bounces from hub to hub. you can be pretty much assured that as soon as you can track it with tnt you'll have it within 24hrs. which is nice :)
 
Does anyone know of any alternative sites to apecode.com? It seems to have been down for quite a while and I've no idea when to expect my package. Unfortunately I didn't expect this thing to take 2 weeks to arrive, and it might be due for delivery the day after I leave the country for a week if the estimated delivery date is correct... :(
