** The Official WWDC 2012 Thread **

Aye, those Mac Pro's are long over due an update! :p

I'm honestly quite sick of waiting for a Mac Pro update, pretty much settled on buying a ridiculously specced iMac...something along the lines of.

27"
i7 of some varient
16gb ram
I've bought a 240gb SSD to go in it (fitting that should be fun!)

It'll bloody fly.

I am also looking out for the iMac specs - I just hope they put a decent graphics card in it :p

The current ones are fine, if you aren't a huge gamer :p :)

Which, I'm not. I barely play any games these days...and if I do it'll be fine...if it struggles, I'll turn the settings down :p

Although I am worried they will take the FireWire port off the iMac (which they've done with everything else) - I regularly use mine to transfer photos from my CF cards...a firewire reader does it in about 2mins 30s....over usb it takes A LOT longer :( - from a wedding I can have upto 100gb to transfer!

I'll probably have a liveblog open but I'm not really that bothered about ios6. Like, if it comes out in September unless it offers something amazing I won't be updating as I will lose my jailbreak..

New maps? Cool.... but I use maps a few times a month if that and I just want directions which it provides. I can't even remember what else has been rumoured. Give me things like quick reply, like I have on bitesms and I might consider updating...

EDIT:
iOS 6 to Bring Systemwide Facebook Integration -- I have Facebook, I don't post.. just look around, so don't care.
Siri Reportedly Coming to iPad with iOS 6 -- I can't find a use on my iPhone, never mind my iPad.
iOS 6 to Add Safari iCloud Tabs, VIP Mail Recipients, 'Do Not Disturb' Mode? -- I actually heard of the idea of iCloud tabs, I quite like that.., DND mode, mute switch and I turn my vibrations off... or turn on airplane mode :s

i am so stupidly excited about this it really is retarded. so so so geeky. i dont even know what im excited about even more. more so just to see what actually appears as opposed to speculation but i am most interested to see the MBP. my one was the first model to come out. its on its last legs. so would be great to see what actually comes out. maybe even be disappointed. if for example no optical + ethernet and maybe pick up a current one

one cheeky question. im starting my own business and my girlfriend is still in uni. would i be able to use her cheeky discount and then be able to write it off against tax ?

Yeah I am running a mid 2010 27inch Imac with an i7, 16 gig ram but alas no ssd yet.

Having said that it still flies..... :D

im running 27" i5 16gb ram late early 2010 (before they fitted the mount bracket inside)

i will happily update to a mac pro if they sort out the pci-e slots and allow any videocard to be plugged into the system. i heard with ati you can do this with dedicated driver support?
i would love to see them include the ssd into the imac line, even if it is a 60gb boot drive at a reasonable price bundled with a 2tb drive aswell.

Yes you can...

I know people who have done it... Basically you are buying it as a gift for her so you pay for it and get her discount then write it off against tax.

If the Air gets a High Resolution Display.

When using Windows 7 in boot camp, would Windows see the display as its true native resolution or the fake resolution designed to enhance the quality?

Yes the new apple generation eats all the hype, those who have been following the firm along time get a feeling for these things.

So

I am expecting:

Speed bump only on Macbooks (All models)
Icloud upgrade
IOS6 update
Mountain lion update

They MUST Include a better GFX card for these iMacs. A mobile card is just not good at all for gaming and performance wise. I know they don't have a lot of room inside the iMacs for bigger and faster cards but they need to Reach out to the people that want to game on a imac!!!

You can game perfectly well on an iMac. Thermal limits nevermind space constraints means you're never going to see a desktop GPU.

Plus if you really care about PC gaming you can build a better spec'd PC for less (excluding the display) and have a GPU of your choice.

Just out of curiosity couldn't you have a few mobile chipsets working together to equal the performance of one highly regarded card?

Rapidly diminishing returns on SLI. However, as above, the iMac couldn't cope thermally with such a setup (and I doubt there is even space in the enclosure)

I think that's a fair guess at what we can expect. I think it be would be awesome news if they release an Apple TV SDK though :) Looking forward to seeing what people come up with :)
