Seems low, but have you played with the AA settings etc? you should score about 5,000 at least with the version that you can't tinker with.

io have aa set to 4x, atisropic is on 16 catalyst ai in on advanced

that's pointless because we have no reference point to compare against... :p

you need to run at default settings then we'll have a clue.

btw my rig scores 4500 at default. and my cpu is a pretty even match for a single core a64. :)

Ahh that's well below. Is it getting enough juice? and if you haven't the latest drivers, uninstall and clean the old ones off, before installing the latest.

i used the drivers on the cd rom. not sure what they are. i put this card in place of my nvidia should i have formatted everything or just unistalled the old nv drivers ?

ive never upgraded before.

I was previously using an nVidia card. I uninstalled the nvidia video drivers from add/remove programs, then rebooted into safe mode, where I installed and ran 'driver cleaner pro' on the old nVidia drivers, which removed some more stuff. Then I rebooted once more, and downloaded and installed the latest 6.12 Catalyst Control Centre and drivers.

If this isn't what you did, I recommend you uninstall the ATI drivers, and start from scratch - just to make sure you're getting the best performance from your new card.

ok mate cheers, that'll be a job for tomorow.

Just got the HIS IceQ3 512MB card, and to my dismay the fan wants to sit where my Zalman Northbridge cooler is (Asus A8N-SLI mobo). I realised it looked like a big card, but not quite that big.

Anyone got any suggestions or am I looking at a return for a smaller card?
Or of course a new mobo. Though I was hoping to hold off on a big system upgrade for a couple of months...

Just a couple of pix to show the 'height' difference between the Power-Colour and HIS X1950 Pro. You can see how I came unstuck using the Power-Colour card, with it installed I had no chance of getting the case lid back on but luckily the HIS fits perfectly!

here is a closer look at the shot above, you can see the white cable I was talking about, the cards I had like this made a 'rattle' sound but on the cards that had a short neat cable there was no noise . . .

I need that flat northbridge cooler on your mobo lol. I have the side of my case off so the powercolor wouldn't bother me either. I can't find a cheap flat cooler anywhere so I guess the card will be going back. Unless someone has a bright idea?

What's the answer to the rattle problem Wayne? I can live with mine now, got used to it, but if I can stop it then that's a billy bonus!

Looking at your 2nd pic Big.Wayne of the cable length, the cable on my card is no where near that long. Any chance of a pic of the card with the shorter length of cable? Hopefully i may have got one of the non-rattle cards (touches wood). :)

ok i have a couple of gaming issues since installing my card. i was wondering if anybody else has experienced the same....

1) the sound of a ball being kicked in pro evo6 is delayed but all other sound is fine. i'm playing offline.
edit: i can fix this by disabling vsync. but then of course the screen tears are very noticeable
2) when changing mp3 tracks on the "user tracks" radio station in gta:sa, the screen locks for about 1second or so and then carries on as normal. again all other sound is fine.....

now i'm sure it's not a soundcard (audigy2) problem as i used the same soundcard drivers with my previous setup (7600gs) and it worked perfectly. btw this is completely brand new windows install. absolutely everything is upto date. any ideas guys? :p

Well, I have the shorter length of cable, and the rattle

Wayne, please tell me, did you RMA your HIS back because of the rattle?!
